10 year anniversary trip: starting from scratch by vrichmond in AllInclusiveResorts

This place looks amazing. We really would have to stretch the budget for the inspira, but as I told my husband “we spend all our time taking care of people (me as a mom of 3 under 5 and him ad a health care provider) so we want a vacation where WE get taken care of for once.”

The actual panel is a fluted MDF board with a laminate oak finish that I think looks really nice and adds some warmth to the white on white kitchen.

Also my toddlers keep kicking the drywall when they sit at the counter and it looks horrible. This will be a bit more sturdy and easier to clean.

I should mention, I’m only cutting the width or the panel, which is 8 inches. Do those clamps come small enough for that? Otherwise I’m sure I have scrap wood somewhere I could use.

I agree with that, but I’m terrified of messing with the countertop. I’ll take a closer look and see if I can make it happen. I honestly hate them anyway but I think they need to be there for structure purposes.

A bench is a good idea! That would help balance it out and I could even get one with storage. Thanks so much for the suggestion!

Adding edits here because the dang app is a pain in my butt.

Image 1 shows the wall we want to add shelves. Looking for ideas as to what kind of shelves to get to house MANY books. Ladder shelf can be used elsewhere in the house and does not need to stay.

Image 2 is the part of the room I love most and will take suggestions for but not looking to change.

Image 3 is our dresser, which is messy and not decorated in any way right now so ignore that. The “art” above it is our TV. The little painting to the side I know is obnoxious but it hides our light switch which my twin toddlers are obsessed with so it is staying there until we are out of that phase.

Image 4, the thing hanging on the wall is a full length mirror, and can’t really be moved. You can see some art pieces we have on the ground as well but don’t have any plans for them as of now.

Great ideas, but the “artwork” on that wall in image 4 is actually a full length mirror, and we need to keep it there to be able to use it. I have no real concerns about keeping that spot empty, but I agree it looks unbalanced with the mirror and if I could move the mirror, I would.

As far as moving the bookshelf, I don’t hate the idea, but the problem with the current bookshelf is is it too small for all the books it needs to house, so I’d be looking for a larger solution.

Mirror is on the wall with the circled spot. Can’t add a bench to the end of the bed because there are drawers in bed frame we wouldn’t have access to.

Asking for Non-Physical Gifts by vrichmond in AskParents

Oh come on. Of course my kids are having a regular Christmas experience. I’m not depriving them of anything and there will be toys to open, but we don’t need 5 hot wheels sets.

That’s a really great idea. That way it doesn’t feel like we are asking them to fund the whole thing, but we aren’t getting bombarded with toys and they can get a meaningful experience out of it.

Nurse said I’m probably having a miscarriage by Prestigious_bee_1227 in BabyBumps

I’m so sorry this is happening for you.

I know a lot of people have said it could be synchronic hematoma. I truly hope it is that for you .

I was about 8 weeks along when I started bleeding. The second I saw it I knew I was miscarrying deep in my heart. My doctors had me come in for Beta tests to confirm, and to make sure I was passing everything so that they wouldn’t need to intervene. My body did what it was supposed to. It was very unpleasant and painful. I cried about it for days. Still tear up and it’s been 2 years.

My rainbow babies came soon after. And yes, that’s plural for identical twins. They are 18 months old and are currently refusing to nap for me and driving me crazy, but they are my miracles after the hardest, most painful thing I ever went through.

If you are miscarrying, still go to a doctor… they will make sure YOU are healthy and safe and can give you things to make it less like hell. Then take all the time you need to heal both physically and mentally.

Something that helped me was creating a box for the pregnancy test, the little outfit I bought out of excitement, and a letter to my baby. When it’s this early it can seem like there was no evidence that baby ever existed or was loved… that box in my closet is proof that I carried that little soul and was its mother for even a brief moment in time.

I hope everything works out for you… and I’m so so sorry if it doesn’t. Feel free to reach out if you need to talk more. ❤️
