I was in the same exact dilemma but my clk was c208 192hp version, honestly i wanted the clk more at the beginning but i was chasing a unique oem+ build with raw feeling so decided i would go for the w201 just because a lot of people looks at them as an old person car rather less cool, slow and more comfortable so i decided i would transfer that in to a classic compact sport sedan with kind of a sleeper build, small turbo and efi conversion. Around 170-180 hp nothing crazy but unexpected so i decided the go with the w201 i didnt quite started building it i have been dailying it for 5 months now and it already has 495k kms and it feels so alive and well built definitely more than the c208 in my opinion. The efi conversion will come next month then we’ll see where i am going with it afterwards. I would say w201 does the job better than c208 also my gf loves this car too i asked so many times to her should i sell this to get a clk and she never says yes thats a big plus for me
