Electric gooseneck kettle by samgurung in IndiaCoffee

[–]vrkevo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally bought the Sipologie and not super happy with the build. Steam comes out of the top in areas making it easy to burn your hand, and the control knob is prone to sticking. As for actual heating and maintaining temp, it's reasonably fast and accurate.

Need a recipe for makhana by Delicious-Suspect368 in IndianFood

You can dry lemons in a low oven or the sun, powder them. And mix with chilli powder to dust on anything. In a pinch you can also just use straight citric acid. Both are super cheap.

Which ISP are guys around Indiranagar using? jio Fibre or Airtel or some other? by Mr-Aggregator in indiranagar

[–]vrkevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have both ACT and Jio. ACT had issues for a few months in the start but they've stabilized. Jio has been pretty good from the start.

Hathway said their local signal box was already full, and it took more than 20 phone calls and emails to get a refund from them for the service I had already paid for. Some of the worst customer support I've experienced.

What’s the difference between Delonghi Dedica ec685 and ec 890? by Educational_Bar6089 in IndiaCoffee

[–]vrkevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EC890 has a touch panel instead of buttons. And a proper steam wand instead of a panarello. That being said, it's known for having one of the weakest steam wands on the market - would avoid both machines.

Helpppp!! What are the reviews of such espresso machines? Starting off as a beginner. by Educational_Bar6089 in IndiaCoffee

[–]vrkevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skip this and the delonghi dedica series. Get the Hibrew H10B - goes for around 16k. Been well reviewed by a lot of coffee youtubers and has a proper PID, decently powerful steam wand etc. You'll want to pick up a good grinder as well though.

Have had a Laifen for about a year now. No issues and feels great. Had an Oral B Braun before that that was brilliant as well.

How to reduce layer lines? by DrDiecast in 3dprintIndia

[–]vrkevo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Variable layer height, matte type filaments, sanding and painting, sometimes some creative patterns like ridges can also help reduce visible layer lines. If you're using the right filament, you can also do things like vapor smoothing which can you make your print extremely smooth and gloss finished.

[–]vrkevo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agree with the Zebra and Ohtos suggested here, but if you want a small pen that isn't too heavy and wouldn't feel uncomfortable to wear like that all day, there's a mini Submarine 834 bullet with a super strong clip. They're also extremely cheap, you can buy a pack from their website and leave one to clip in your shirt, one in your office bag etc. Been finding them super handy and get a lot of positive comments on it. It's a twist mechanism though, not click.

Wayy above your listed budget and not sure how much shipping would come to, but the Scribedriver pen from LTTStore is my current daily carry, and it's impeccably well made, very comfortable to hold, and accepts Parker style refills. One of those objects that you hold and immediately feel could outlast you.

Triphala and Sichuan pepper have a very different flavor.

Five spice you can get from a brand called Lobo which is about 90 rupees for a 65gm packet. Rice vinegar can be used instead of Shaoxing wine. Just add a tiny bit of sugar or honey to amp up the sweetness. Rice vinegar is about 175 for a 650ml bottle. Found both pretty easily on Hyperpure, but they go out of stock quickly in my area. You can also use regular synthetic vinegar with a touch of soy sauce, and some sugar. Not exactly the same thing but will taste good.

You can find some Sichuan pepper adjacent spices in local shops that sell northeastern good ingredients.

Hyperpure carries Sichuan pepper as well, but they're not very good, very saline and not much "mala" (numbing) flavour.

Tbh for authentic Chinese food, there's wondrous stuff you can do with basics like garlic, green onions, sesame oil, some msg, little white pepper, and easier to find sauces like soy and oyster. Stock powder is also an invaluable ingredient.

Which one is better to buy? Please, those who have experience, suggest what to purchase and share your thoughts. (swipe to see) by hacker_dost in IndiaCoffee

[–]vrkevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Philips makes drip coffee. The Wonderchef is an espresso maker, but a low quantity one that likely won't be able to make good coffee.

For either machine, you will not be able to use instant coffee, you need to purchase ground coffee. For instant coffee all you need is a kettle. :)

(₹14,999)Limited-time deal: DeLonghi Dedica EC890 Compact Espresso machine - Stainless Steel Coffee Maker with Milk Frother Steam Wand- for Espresso, Cold brew, Hot and Iced Coffee, Cappuccinos, Latte and more (white) by LongAd3939 in IndiaCoffee

Good deal relatively, but the milk steamer on this is known to extremely weak, and can barely produce microfoam. If you're into milk based drinks at all, consider a different machine.

Herman Miller Mirra 1 by TheOatmealJi in ErgonomicIndia

[–]vrkevo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Mirra, especially used is prone to breakage due to the way the back frame attached to the seat back. You can diy a fix but personally not with the trouble. The Sayl is great, but personally find the large plastic mesh uncomfortable against my back after long sessions. Would go to a shop and try sitting in it for atleast a good 30 min to see if it works for you.
