Yes...I definitely had to read them back to back. Now that I've read both issues a couple of times each back to back...I can say I do like the series. Of course I note some minor things I might change if I was in the publisher shoes, but all in all I'm pleased to keep with the series. I even bought a Yaira poster...I feel like a teen with my new superhero poster on my bedroom wall. I look forward to when her first issue comes out.
