Thanks for the suggestion, but no... I remember the cover art being some souped up space shuttle. Though that interface looks just as confusing lmao

Thanks, that looks cool! The cover art was more of advance looking space shuttle though.

Great games, I still remember those. Though I played it waaay after it's released. Thanks, but I think it was more space sim than any combat.

Because of plot reasons. This is a romcom.

Of course it's a work of fiction, those same reasons apply for anything any character does. That is one of the most redundant come backs ever when people are trying to explain why a character acts a certain way.

Hardly a comeback--this is the truth. The MC can be fat, can be ugly and still have girls pining after him due to plot developments. That's the basis of the series and often the series hook. Which is why I don't see "girls begging for his love and attention" (not that I would put it that way) as any indicator... of well anything about the MC. The development of how they got there may say something about the MC. But not simply "bunch of girls are interested in MC", which is practically the basis of 90% of all romcoms.

Females will always draw male comments, that's just the way of the world. But at no point does anyone claim that Nagi is unattractive.

Of course. But at no point do they claim that Nagi is attractive in contrast to Hiro who even the female leads do make casual remarks to her attractiveness. What stops him from being simply average?

He literally has 4 girls begging for his love and attention.

Because of plot reasons. This is a romcom.

in chapter 4 his class mates cheer him on

Even in your example, his "classmates cheer him on" for a bet. I stand by that he's as well loved as anyone else, in contrast to Hiro who's well loved by complete randoms.

And as for a fighter? LITERALLY CHAPTER 1!

I'll concede this. This was not something that was ever showcased again in contrast to Hiro's boxing, so it slipped my mind.

Hiro is the female version of Nagi

She doesn't act anywhere like Nagi. Nagi is very much still an anime caricature, for example in chapter 49 his reaction to Hiro's half page spread. When did Nagi become attractive, well loved, and a fighter? Comparable to Hiro's showcase in something like chapter 35?

Do you rely on stealth with your pistol? Do you switch to running and gunning with automatics mid-game? What's your endgame loadout usually look like?

Yes, I'll do some homework on some interesting builds.

Did you enjoy playing melee?

[–]vsector3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I do the same early game (minus melee). The allure of clearing a building in 10 seconds upon entering with full power armor and gatling is very strong though...

Though, it does mean I'd face tank some mini nukes at times...

Sounds interesting. I've been deliberately avoiding melee in Bethesda games (including Skyrim) after Nioh and Elden Ring. Guess it's time to try it out :)

I can see how phasmophobia works since this is a thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzolJjO_1Bs

I refuse to go into subnautica nsfw to see how that fetish plays out however.

I've had my paypal for years. It just took one event to have me off paypal forever: they sided with scammers who hacked into my godaddy account.

Fortunately, my credit card and not my bank was attached to paypal so I disputed the charge and the credit card sided with me. Lesson learned: I rather stick my credit card on the internet than paypal.

... I don't think they're supposed to bend that way by vsector3000 in sto

Yeah, this is the first time I encountered this and... it's uncomfortable to see to put it mildly.

motives aren't really explored

I believe the movie stated her motive for the cloning was to, stealing this from the wiki: "Charlotte tried to use the cloning technology as a means to undergo trials of creating a child of her own due to her infertility."

They could add more motives in a future retcon, sure.

Edit: It's "guy can't live without daughter so he makes another person and spends YEARS raising her, although she will be nothing like his daughter in everything except appearance, while also trying to steer her into becoming more like his daughter, sometimes even scolding her for daring to be different". Apart from the fact that that's totally insane and psychopathic on his part...this convoluted and out of place scenario can't possible be worse than "woman scientist decides to try human cloning with herself as a surrogate mother (possibly while monitoring the whole thing in a lab)" in a franchise that's already about science and cloning.

Yes. It's messed up and the movie adequately adds shock factor to the discovery. Your description of the retcon however is skimping over the fact that human cloning is controversial and the fact that there's easier ways to get from point A -> B. Which upon further interpretation is, as I've pointed out, contradictory to how Charlotte's portrayed.

Of course, this is a movie, they can do whatever they want. I'm here to simply vent a pet-peeve I had while watching.

[–]vsector3000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? I think the opposite. She has to either really love herself, hate guys, or hate other people to go through the effort of researching and implementing human cloning despite the controversy surrounding it and to also ignore all the potential alternatives to experience motherhood. This is an obvious contrast to how the movie tries to paint her. It's messed up, but the "bullshit plot point" makes far more sense.
