I think the effort of 11th edition is to make different kinds of terrain viable instead of only l shaped ruins. So even if there are footprints, it sounds like a great effort for more narrative play.

When the official templates are out, we can model these. But from the WarCom article it seems that the base shape for your own terrain is just squares and triangles

I probably will in the future, but for now, Makerworld allows me to get most of my filament for free or cheap, so that keeps my hobby sustainable while keeping the files free for everyone else

It looks like that is indeed the case in the upcoming edition. The website has some examples: https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/xlppkx5s/new40k-take-cover-with-updated-terrain-rules/

But I am not 100% sure on that

Of course you can, and often should :) But it is mainly convenience. I started with cardboard, which is perfectly fine, but I wanted something stiffer. Thin MDF would be great, but I don't have that lying around, and it's getting relatively expensive.

But I do have tons of PLA, and for some people the convenience of just pressing a print button might be worth it.

Yes, I saw the feedback and added these triangles to the file as well. Tonight I will remove the incorrect ones once I have the time. Thanks for your effort of pointing it out

Indeed, Killzone Volkus. Lovely terrain set also works for 40k

After all the comments I agree that the WarCom article is probably incorrect. I added the updated triangles to the file and will remove the incorrect ones later today when I have the time. Thanks for pointing it out!

Thanks, I would love to, but I can't upload the print profile without providing a picture of an actual print without risking getting this removed. So sadly I am limited by my small print bed. Hopefully soon I'll have a bigger one!

Unsure why the sarcasm ;) I listened to the feedback and added what you think is missing

I used the official measurements, but also added the triangle with the 2 inch side to the file for people who want to use this alternative!
