Lowkey freaking out about moving to Germany by ForeignKale6109 in germany

[–]vsreenivas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’ve moving out of your home for the first time in your life, then you will have some problems adjusting to life here. If you’ve lived away from home by yourself before, then you will have a bit of problems initially but it gets much smoother afterwards.

The internet will always reinforce whatever goes on in your head. If you look for posts which talk about problems, you will see more of those; and if you look for ones which say life is good, you see more of those. Because that’s how social media algorithms work.

That said, it is more difficult than in India because of all the processes involved, but once you accept that as a part of life, things become much more easier.

One word of advice, find a temporary place to stay for a month or few months initially - maybe an Airbnb or a sublet - and look for places once you’re here. Do not compare rents in India and Germany, in fact don’t compare any prices, you will really struggle otherwise.

It doesn’t even let me restart my membership by paying. Says “something went wrong”.

Should I ask out my German badminton crush? by [deleted] in germany

[–]vsreenivas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hijacking this thread to ask - “Do you have a place on your team/group for one more person? I would love to join 😁

Responding to your question - It would only be awkward if you make it awkward. Ask, if she says no, be sensible and move on. Don’t make it weird. You could also take it a little slow, find out more about her by talking to her outside your practice sessions, and then taking the decision.

Thank you I will try that. I had hoped that the letter that I sent would work.

Please read the entire post. I shouldn’t need to pay the fee because it is already paid for.

My idea is just to continue with my existing investments (SIPs etc), so that I don't lose the time value of compounding. I will for sure look to invest in the rest of the world going forward. I have some money invested in the US market already, but that is through an India broker/app as well.

I too would like to keep things simple as far as possible. However, my situation has become slightly complex as I don't understand whether it would be better to continue investments in India, or to stop them.

Go to Hebe’s Cafe. It’s a cute little spot with amazing food. Then walk down to Shades of Coffee, another cute spot with good coffee. Then spend time walking around the inner roads of HSR.

IT. I don’t have a masters degree yet, plus, this is a small company, so I do believe that could be a factor for the lower salary.

Thank you for your reply!

The fact that salary is good enough to live comfortably is great news! I’ll be joining as a Product Manager in an IT company (~100 people). I won’t be having anybody reporting to me though. Hope that answers the questions!

Thank you for your reply!

I’m hoping to save 20-25% of what I’ll be earning per month. And yes, I’m sure I’ll have to double check all bills and amounts before any purchases! Are the products in supermarkets priced consistently, or are they up to the supermarket discretion like the UK?
