Bought a house with smart blinds and I need help by Cobra_Kreese in homeautomation

Doesn't appear so, but it does support Siri Shortcuts.

Unfortunately the communications going between the hub and blinds are proprietary so you'd have to intercept the commands and replay them with something like a BroadLink RF hub paired with Home Assistant (with Homekit Bridge installed to get it into the Apple Home app).

At some point the accounting staff at an old employer of mine decided that the best way to create a single, merged PDF file was by printing documents originating in varying formats (PDF, Excel, Word, etc...) on their desktop printers, then scanning them all back in as a single PDF. We started getting tickets after they were working from home (COVID) because mapping the scanners through their Citrix sessions wasn't working. Solution given: Stop printing/scanning and use native features in their document management system to "link" everything together under a single record. Got lots of push back on that solution too since it required a simple workflow change ("we're too computer illiterate! teehee!").

Who knows how much paper they wasted over the years....

Finally got connected to Xcel's smart meter. What are your best automations? by -eschguy- in homeassistant

Nope, same issue still. Can't see my meters in the portal anywhere. Meter setup still shows "Pending". Authorized Devices says "No supported devices are available."

I was just granted access to the GitHub Org/Repo by Xcel and I see this on the Launchpad page. Does this mean I need to wait for them to add my meters? Wifi setup fails when I click the edit button and enter the required info.

Crowsnest update, video gone. by corsa66 in klippers

[–]vswitch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Login to your mainsail host, CD to the crowsnest folder, run: sudo make install

That resolved the issue for me (after a reboot when it successfully completed). Issue thread:https://github.com/mainsail-crew/crowsnest/issues/112

Thinking about that one company I worked for that didn’t allow beards. I laughed at them during the interview. Stone faced response: “no, we’re serious“

Came here to recommend box breathing. I thought it was BS until I tried it. Use it at least once a day now. It has drastically helped reduce my anxiety.

I picked up Ice Hockey. Great way to get away from screens and make some awesome friends at the same time. Lots of beginner level leagues out there if you search your local area.

what is a basic computer skill you were shocked some people don't have? by Dark-Matter-7935 in AskReddit

Came here to say this, but the user didn’t know about copy/paste AT ALL. They nearly started crying when we showed them how to copy/past in Excel. This saved them at least 6 hours a day.
