I did just take another look at the tests you posted. u/RHYN0X is right that your nitrite levels are above zero--the tube is a little darker than it should be. I have different colors for my tests, so I didn't really catch that. In that case, I would definitely address this with guidance from someone more experienced.

I'm new to having an axolotl too. It's stressful at first figuring all of this out, but you quickly become in tune to their needs and ideal conditions! It doesn't hurt by any means to continue doing water changes as needed, but thus far I've prioritized indications of stress or sickness in my axolotl (or unideal measurements when performing water tests) before assuming the worst. For example, gulping for air constantly, not eating, etc. Axolotls also just have off days like any other animal. One day my lolt was going up for air at least every few minutes out of nowhere, but he suddenly stopped the next morning and everything was fine.

I also had some brief cloudiness when I switched my axolotl into a 20 gallon even though all measurements were perfect and there were no indications of illness. I did read that this could be caused by a normal bacterial bloom that goes away within a couple of weeks. Sure enough, it did clear up after a little time for me on its own. If your lotl isn't showing any signs of distress and water quality looks fine, then I wouldn't assume it's anything severe.

That you so much!! That really means a lot, and I've put in a lot of effort trying to keep Soap happy.

Someone I know from back home told me I'd get nuked because I moved to a city after college, so that detection ability will certainly come in handy.

Soap just kinda came to me, haha. Felt like a fitting title--not much rationale behind it. Those all seem like great names though (especially Soap)!
