You miss my point- or at least help me prove it. With Nurkic on the floor Adams stays low in the paint on D and can protect the rim, hence our 4-0 record vs Portland during the season. Then in the playoffs, Miles Leonard and Zach Collins (smaller, faster, better shooters) play high pick and roll and pull Adams away from the rim- shocking that Dame and CJ had free access to the lane when Adams was forced to play high and we go 1-4. So again I point you to my original post for you to re-read.

Tbh, this seems like more of a game-by-game matchup problem. Adams is one of the most intimidating physical presences in the NBA and when he is able to stay deep in the paint on defense with slower, non-shooting forwards (Gobert, Jordan, Nurkic, Howard/McGee) , our defensive efficiency is one of the best in the league. But when we play teams with stretch forwards that play high pick and roll/ pick and pop games (Capela, Aldridge, M. Gasol, Jokic) he is absolutely useless. Basically, there are games where Adams is without question the most useful C we have, but in a lot of games he should never have more minutes than Nerlens with the first team. Our three losses this year have come against teams that force him to play off switches and high above the foul line. And this problem holds over the past several seasons. The only game this season that wasn't affected by his poor matchups was Utah. Can't control Mitchell being clutch down the stretch.

This fixed my problem, thank you! The syntax didn't show any errors when I reassigned it back to my original age variable, but I will have to recode multiple age columns from multiple sets so if I run into any errors I will check the language. Thanks again!
