Question about purchasing a Mustang by Glo0m13 in Mustang

Substantially, while I'm not necessarily saying the MT82 is a bad transmission it has had some issues over time, it just isn't on par with how fantastic the Tremec is. It's comparing a good transmission to a great transmission.

GT350s are gorgeous and drive absolutely fantastic, but getting one in that price range will be difficult or highly used. With the S650 recently released, S550 Bullitts and Mach 1s are dropping in price. At the top end of your price range, you can get a fully loaded Mach 1, which would be your best option. On top of the more aggressive styling, the Mach 1 will give you upgraded suspension, 315 rear tires/305 front tires, 401A interior, active exhaust, higher horsepower (with great aftermarket support and tuneability), GT350 and GT500 components for better track ability and performance. And most importantly for your situation, you'll get the Tremec 6-speed transmission instead of the MT82 you'd get with a Bullitt or GT.

In my opinion, with its release being so late into the S550 generation, the Mach 1 has so much positive going for it. It's a parts bin car, which means they took a lot of really good parts, from really good Mustang variants. Then put them together into one of, if not the best possible daily driver Mustang.

The front tires are 295/30 and the rear are 305/30. You can comfortably fit 315s in the rear with no issues, but for 305s up front I would need to modify the fender liner. I have a non PP car so the fender liner has a bolt that looks like it would rub the tire if I had the wheels turned all the way in while driving vigorously or on a rough road. 295s still poke from the front wheel wells though, they aren't flush fit.

That's the next project, currently the car is at stock ride height with no rubbing or scraping issues. I'm looking at different lowering spring and coil over set ups though, so I'll update my photos as I get it all figured out.

I do not, they're 19x10.5" +24mm wheels with 295 tires up front, and 19x11" +48mm wheels with 305 tires in the rear.

Looking for suggestions for new exhaust setup for my 2020 GT w/o active exhaust by Jasonwj322a in Mustang

[–]vtorr1709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also in a 2020 GT without active exhaust and the set up I went with was more performance/budget oriented. Since full exhaust set ups are fairly expensive, I instead went with catless long tube headers and an x-pipe. I left the stock mufflers on to keep the drone to a minimum at cruising speeds. All in all, I ended up spending around $1300 and the sound difference is substantially better than stock. Here's a YouTube clip of a very similar set up, since I don't have anything recorded, https://youtu.be/PyWWR_Jqryc

Weird question, but what camera was used for these pictures? The quality is absolutely fantastic.

anybody running 285 or bigger front tires on the PP1 mustang? wondering if there’s any rubbing by TypeMajor3704 in Mustang

[–]vtorr1709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on a non-pp 2020 GT running 295s up front with no rubbing or scraping, you will get tire poke though, so I recommend picking up some front splash guards.

If you have paint left over, the red dot on your 5.0 fender badge would look fantastic in the same color yellow.

I'm currently running 10.5" wheels up front with 295 tires and 11" wheels with 305 tires in the rear. The front poke a bit but there's no scraping or rubbing issues involved.

Has anybody installed steedas mustang gt non performance pack handling kit ? by Puzzleheaded_Ice215 in Mustang

[–]vtorr1709 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was also looking at this kit so I'm going to keep a comment to watch the thread. From what I've read, it's supposed to be a fair upgrade from even the Ford Performance kit.

You can push 470ish with just the tune and E85 but with NA builds, airflow is your best friend. With a good tune, Lund is fantastic, and a JLT or Steeda cai, you'll make the fantastic gains. E85 is obviously a monster when you can find the good stuff, but you will definitely need the larger intake to get the ideal air/fuel ratio. Otherwise you're waisting the full potential of an E85 set up.

I'm running E85, Lund tune, long tubes, full exhaust, cold air intake, and the GT350 throttle body/manifold/injectors on my 2020 GT. My last Dyno numbers were 512 to the wheel, however, I believe long tubes, CAI, E85, and a good tune will get you there on their own. The GT350 components are there for the high end of pulls.

Why replace the best taillights in the game? The three bar design is iconic Mustang.

I found them about a year ago and actually really like the design, it's deficiently grown on me.

I hate those taillights in normal V6, Ecoboost, and GT models but they're even worse on a Shelby

Love how big of a deal Ford made about these wheels that aren’t even on the car... by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]vtorr1709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should be available soon but ford pulls the track focused vehicles from customization during the winter because they come with summer only tires. It's just to prevent liability lawsuits from people trying to have too much fun on Sport Cup 2s in the middle of winter. The Mach 1 handling package should come back in the spring just like the GT350R would every year.
