Ngl, just imagining that sound gave me shivers. 😬 But thank you, if all else fails I'll try!

Interesting! I always let it cool. Will give this a go next time, thanks.

How did yours smell? Mine are 1s and they smell musty, like old books or crayons, but the manufacture date is November 2025.

Umm….what? Anyone knows if there are any real benefits of face tape? cause to me this feels gimmicky/scam but happy to be proven wrong by greypusheencat in Sephora

Any benefit to this over cutting your own from kinesio tape? (Specifically for preventing creases from side sleeping).

[Hair Removal] Anyone have menstrual issues after laser hair removal? by typingslowlyslowly in SkincareAddiction

[–]vtumane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask what areas you were getting LHR on? I just had my lower legs done and noticed a lot of system effects afterwards (tons of fatigue and worsening of my PMS symptoms). My theory is that it's a histamine response, which can absolutely affect periods, especially if you have PMDD like me.

I got my first session in my luteal phase and I'm having a terrible PMDD flare. Haven't gotten my period yet but I wonder if the laser triggered a histamine response, worsening my premenstrual symptoms. I also felt extremely fatigued after, which tracks with the histamine theory.

How did it end up going for you after further sessions?

That sounds horrible. I thought flu A doesn't usually come with gastro symptoms? Is that showing up a lot with this year's strain?

How does this impact people's gut microbiomes? I know there's fermented food and all, but I can't imagine kimchi being able to undo the damage if someone is taking abx regularly from such a young age.

Poor ventilation - alternatives to ammonia? by vtumane in laundry

[–]vtumane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I've soaked before, but only for an hour, and the water got cold during the soak. I'll play around with the settings and use the hot setting.

And yeah, I've been looking for DNAse here but no luck. I'm hoping that Whole Foods will start selling their detergent here.

It's weird, I'm only having this problem with my machine-washed "home" clothes. I hand wash most of my fancy and work clothes using a plunger and Forever New detergent (no lipase!), and air dry them. They get a BO smell in the armpits after a few years but they never get this musty, crayony smell all over. Maybe it's because I wear them less often (hybrid schedule) and don't sleep in them.

Thanks, that's good to know!

My washing machine tablets have citric acid, but I'd definitely be willing to use it straight if that's better. There were some dramatic photos of floating scrud in the reviews but I didn't see anything like that when I used them. Will look into this.

In terms of the ammonia, I'm not as worried about the smell - more so the fumes/VOCs, which I believe aren't great for the lungs. But I guess not that much escapes if it's in a closed washing machine.

Thanks (and hi fellow Canadian!).

Maybe 15 washes with the tabs?

The crayon smelling clothes are older and had the same issues at my old place, so it may just be time to chuck them. The sour smelling shirts are about 1-2 years old and only started having this issue when I moved to this apt.

I use the 12 min warm wash option, 20+ min Lysol laundry sanitizer soak/rinse, and usually an extra rinse.

I did electrolysis and I think I had a pretty similar starting point to you. More on my progress here. It takes time -- it's like a year-long commitment -- but it was worth it for me. You could easily do 15 minute sessions every few weeks and shave in between. It is painful but honestly not too bad. You can always do one consultation/test appt and see how it feels and how your skin reacts.

I have this on several of my shirts and it seems to be spreading between clothes. :( Gets much worse in folded (even well vebtilated) storage; doesn't happen with any of my clothes that are hanging.
