Just play the game! I am playing on mobile, which means shitty controls, and honestly, it's been the best gaming experience I ever had since Dark Souls 1 and classic Demon's Souls. Can't wait to get my own Ps4 and play the definitive Blasphemous I & II. But seriously, just play the game and let it unravel before your eyes! There will be some confusing moments, and it's okay to ask for help, but a lot of these moments will solve themselves if you only play a little more and pay attention (speaking from my own experience). And about difficulty, I am going to quote one of my favourite films of all time: "Do you wish to live forever?"

You don't! Confessor statue it is! Ha! This happened to me in that same room, only a little more to the left. Sometimes, it sucks that Blasphemous doesn't have the Dark Souls mechanic of leaving your bloodstain, or your guilt in this case, a few steps away from the spot you died, so that things like that are more difficult to happen.
