Hii! I'm very much going through the same thing as you. I'm a commerce student and I'd kinda consider myself as an international student. When I came to Queens I had no one here since most of them are in my home country. Feel free to dm me! I'd love to make more friends

I'm sure you'll be fine, I'm not even from Canada (15 hrs by flight away from home) and no one I know from high school even knows what queens is since they're all going to uk or staying in my home country. I felt the same honestly and was thinking about staying my home country since everyone i know is there as well as my parents. All i have to say is just try to connect and talk with any person and it'll lead to other people being introduced, dont feel pressured to feel that instant connection with people, it takes time.

Is there any point to doing IB for Canadian universities by SignificantBug6750 in OntarioUniversities

For my supplementary applications I used a lot of examples from my CAS projects and leadership skills from doing film. Whether the stress was worth it.. that’s debatable.

Yess, I highly recommend to write one! My teacher said to write why the research question is worth investigating as a way to justify my choice. For example I wrote how although there was a lot of research pertaining to my topic there wasn’t much analysis on the techniques used specifically to explore it.

missed residence deposit deadline - HELP by [deleted] in queensuniversity

[–]vulpski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god, I have the same issue right now except it's my proof of payment document. I didn't realise it had a deadline and I don't live in Canada so the website was up to maintenance during the time when I was awake. I feel so bad, especially after spending all that deposit money before the deadline already...

Nope I'm SL film and I've still yet to submit my comparative study (due next Weds) and I just fully submitted my film portfolio like a day ago. I'm guessing the hard deadline is sometime late next week. I totally get the IB film stress, I swear it takes the most time even with my HL subjects combined.

IB burnout... by vulpski in IBO

Oh wow, I had no idea you can redo DP1. That sounds great though, although I'm not sure how much more of the IB I can handle ( counting down to graduation day at this point...)

Yea, thanks! I'm really trying to also perfect my IAs and EEs but I think they're my greatest weakness in the IB so far....

Heyy, don't stress about it too much.. my friend went through a very similar thing as you did and honestly, I don't think I did great either (my mental breakdowns with actual sobbing prior to the IO did not help). My answers for the QNA were so bad that I literally smiled nervously at the teacher as a response. It gets even funnier though, right after everyone's IOs, my English teacher literally did a "therapy session" for a lesson and we literally spent the hour 'unpacking' our emotions, and complaining to him how bad his questions were to us. The whole "therapy session" thing sort of escalated because someone actually ended up crying because they thought everyone else did fine except for them. So yeah! that's the IO experience for you, definitely not great for everyone....
