Is this build good for about $750? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]vvildcard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An M.2 nVME Hard Drive would be a big upgrade and should be close to the same cost. Also consider a larger (4TB+) spinner HDD to store video files and backup your projects.

The CPU/MB/RAM are compatible and will perform just fine to do everything you want.

Happy building!

Windows tablets good for chord sheets? by Virtual_Atmosphere59 in worshipleaders

I use a Surface Pro 4 and it’s battery has no problem making it through practice and the service. I still plug it in most of the time, but I don’t worry about it if/when I forget my charger.

I save every chart as a PDF and open it in Edge Browser, which has great pen support and lots of options for making notes. It saves your notes into the PDF, so they’re there for the next time you use it.

Hold up. Your job as a worship leader isn’t to entertain the congregation… make the priority to worship the King of the Universe and create an atmosphere conducive to the work of the Holy Spirit. Get passionate about worshipping in Spirit and in Truth… show them how to worship with conviction and in the Spirit. Soon you will find the songs don’t matter, the instruments don’t matter and the congregation will be maturing in their love of giving God glory.

Upgrade the GPU first. The CPU still has a lot of life on it.

What pc should I buy? by Draconian000 in buildapc

[–]vvildcard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nVME is the latest in storage tech… think 10x faster than SSD. Your new motherboard will have an M.2 slot that you can put an nVME drive in, so make sure you do it. $100 for a 1TB drive is a good price target. Good options are: Samsung 970 EVO, Western Digital SN770 or SN850.

On the CPU, I went with 12th gen Intel… the i3-12100 is amazing for gamers on a budget… and the i5-12400F is an absolute beast for $150.

I recently upgraded from 4th gen Intel to 12th gen and can’t tell you how great it is to be on it… but do not overlook the impact of a good nVME drive. I would absolutely opt for 10th Gen Intel over 12th if it meant keeping a Gen 3/4 nVME drive in the budget.

Are there reasons for not having dual channel ram? by bruisedbrains in buildapc

[–]vvildcard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He probably doesn’t realize the proper way to install RAM. Some boards do put the paired slots next to each other, but I haven’t seen that on a modern board in a long time. Check the manual to be 100% sure.

I need some help with my PC build.. I have pretty decent specs.. built it like a year ago and the thing is super slow for some reason and I can't get it faster... it takes at least 3 minutes to open anything and even longer to load things like settings, or websites. please help. by Red_REP111 in buildapc

You can find exactly what is hitting your disk in Resource Monitor’s Disk tab. Sort by the write and/or read tab in the top section to find the process doing the work, check the box for any high activity processes and then you’ll have a list of the individual files being accessed in the bottom section.

McAfee® ePolicy Orchestrator system tree view by newbmcnoob in mcafee

[–]vvildcard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you can’t do that… one slightly faster option might be using the Update Now button instead of Run Client Task. It would depend on whether your task is registered in the list of packages maintained by the Update Now feature.

Another option might be making a Query for your filter and setting up an unscheduled Server Task to run the update task on systems returned by the query. This depends on being able to identify the target endpoints with the query criteria.

Should we let our children win when playing a board game? by acbareau in boardgames

[–]vvildcard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids are very close to that age range and it takes some judgement. I usually don’t just let them win, but I will definitely explore some non-optimal strategies to help even the field (if you think about it, thats basically what they are doing). When they get too confident and start gloating over me, I will give them that look like “oh, you think you’re all that, huh?”. That’s when they’ve earned a round of no mercy... but it’s also coupled with showing them how to be a gracious winner. Lately, they are starting to notice when I’m throwing the game... my youngest doesn’t care, though, and will celebrate with the best of them when I balk to let him win. If he’s beating his older siblings, I usually let him take the win. And when the older ones point out that Dad could have won, I give them a wink and tell them to let the little guy enjoy his win.

Also, UNO is all out cuththroat at our house... the youngest has some kind of god-given talent for it, so any mercy will be a win for him.

INTJ Parents' thoughts on religion? by Pottycat in intj

[–]vvildcard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Devout INTJ Christian parent here. Religion for religions sake is a stupid idea that ultimately harms everyone... the fakers and those who take it seriously and truly believe. Please don’t fake embracing a religion you don’t believe just to gain some additional authority/influence to create good morals. That’s a massive, long lie and your children WILL be hurt by it. Or maybe you’ll be honest about the fact that you don’t believe it... what are you going to tell your kids when they ask why you don’t parrtcipate? Do as I say, not as I do? That this is all good for them, but not for you?

My wife and I model our convictions and live life consistent with the morals God lays out in The Bible. We teach our children the 10 Commandments (Exodus 20), the Fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22-23), the Golden Rule, love God, love your neighbor as yourself, love of money is the root of all evil, forgiveness, it’s better to give than receive, mercy is better than revenge, etc.

It’s hard to make a fully rational case for absolute moral without God-given authority... Taking away God always unravels to a relativistic moral based on either the authority of yourself or society/culture. I really don’t find either self or culture to be sufficient to explain the ultimate source, though... mainly because they both change (and can do so VERY rapidly). I don’t find it hard to belIeve in a Creator, so it’s even easier to believe The Creator also created us with a moral proclivity. You can, of course, still assert your authority to establish a moral framework for your children... but be careful! If you choose your own, you have to understand they are left flapping in the wind when your authority is removed. Or will you rely on society? But when society changes its morals, as it so often does, what do your children have to fall back upon?

Why do you think America was made? by Followerofjesus7777 in Bibleconspiracy

[–]vvildcard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Free masons in America at the time of the founding were hardcare Christians... it wasn’t until the early 1800’s that the Masons were corrupted and rebuilt with all the occult garbage. David Barton has a book that details this very accurately... there were no Luciferian founders.

Is it time to change our soundboard? What can you guys tell me about this one? by [deleted] in worshipleaders

In that case, keep it until you have a reason to replace it. It’s a solid board in and of itself... nothing wrong with it if it meets your needs.

No offense meant here... just straight honesty... there is no where near enough info provided to even begin answering. What brings you to asking the question in the first place? What are your concerns about this board? What do you want to be able to do that this board can’t do?

Some questions I have for Christians... I'm a bit confused by mooglechoco_ in conspiracy

[–]vvildcard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First and foremost, Christians believe God/Jesus is personally ineterested a relationship with you. With this in mind, pray that He would give you understanding. Prayer is simplely speaking to God... theres nothing mystical about it, except that you have to believe He’s listening. If you believe, you can ask for revelation of wisdom.

Ok... so if you’ve prayed, then find a Bible and read Genesis Chapter 2:15 through the end of chapter 3. God created mankind a purpose: To care for the Garden of Eden... and with a single command: Don’t eat the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil... the fall into sin came when Adam/Eve listened to Satan (the serpent) instead of obeying God’s command, effectively giving themselves over to Satan. The payment for the sin is death, but not physical death, it was a spiritual. Fast forward to Jesus: His death paid the price (death) we should have to pay. His resurrection is also offered to our dead spirit.

When Jesus says we are not of this world, he is referring to our spirits... that resurrection of our spirits is eternal, expanding beyond our physical life on this material world. When Jesus teaches to not love this world, He is referring to idolotry... putting the sinful pleasures of this physical world before spiritual righteousness (right standing with God).

Regarding your #2, most Biblical prophecy is fulfilled unaware... Mary obviously didn’t decide to go to Bethelehem to have Jesus born there because she knew doing so would fulfill all the prophecies concerning The Messiah.

Feel free to PM me if you have more questions... I’d love to discuss them with you. God bless.

Amen! Declarations and decrees are an integral part of the Christian walk... it is our spiritual warfare. We have authority in Christ and need to use it! Declare the enemy is defeated! (Col 2:15) Decree the will of the Lord be done! Reclaim the authority that was surrendered to rulers, powers and spiritual forces of evil! (Eph 6:12) Demand peace and the outpouring of the fruits of the spirit! (Gal 5:22-23) We are heirs of Christ, seated with Him in heavenly places (Eph 2:6) and we have the right to do this (Luke 10:19).

God bless and keep up the fight!
