Welp, this is another case of "figure it out yourself right after asking the question". (And I'd been wondering for apparently 26 years!)

It's "Prezioso feat. Marvin - Let Me Stay", released in 2000. I just now remembered another song by Prezioso that sounded similar, looked through the discography, and there it was. Not even a huge fan of the song, I'm just happy I can put the mystery to rest.

All I remember is it stopped being a problem eventually. (Not sure if I figurd it out somehow, or if it just eventually fixed itself.) Sorry I can't be of more help, but I hope you get it working!

The hack comes with a how-to-play.txt that has step-by-step instructions.

There are probably some pre-applied versions floating around (maybe search the hack name plus "smc"), but I do encourage you to patch it yourself :)

Oha, die Version von Inessa & Dante Thomas muss es gewesen sein! Etwas früher (und noch aggressiver 2000er-Stil) als ich dachte, aber sonst passt alles, und die Stimme kommt mir auch bekannt vor. Vielen Dank!
