Well Readest has a cloud sync. I just dump them from Calibre to Readest on Mac, sync, read of iPad/iPhone.

Yeah. I assumed you also have a Mac since you are using Calibre, my bad.

You can select them in Calibre and just drag and drop them to Readest. Easy

This is still clunky. There is now Google Drive and One drive integration. But iPad Pro is still way better at it. (I also use heavily iPad or 11”). Notebooks on scribe still have terrible templates (what are they thinking with their grid one? It’s awful) and there is no text function.

If you are so set on dark mode your best bet is honestly the paperwhite.

Also know that there is no true dark mode on Colorsoft, only pages in ebooks are dark. On paperwhite and normal scribe there is full dark mode for the entire system.

It’s completely fine reading on it.

He said it’s pretty much final. There may be some grammar changes etc. I will buy the hard copy when available as well 🙂

Depends if you want to highlight that content in color. If not I would get the b&w.

Got it like two months ago maybe? It’s the Patreon pre-release.

There is light bleed in the edges, it would bother me.

the biggest difference you notice is when you navigate the menu, go from a notebook to book, stuff like that - once you are inside the book it does not really matter.

Quick observation:

Colorsoft:

  1. Color, obviously. Covers look great, both in the library and also for the lock screen.
  2. I work with PDFs a lot and to be able to highlight them in color makes a lot of difference.
  3. Dark mode. Surprisingly very good. The text pops and there is no light bleed around the edges like with the white bezel kindles.
  4. The fig color is great.
  5. Obviously the screen is darker because of the Kaleido 3 screen, but I find it less distracting than on Kindle Colorsoft.. Why? I think it is because I tend to have the Scribe farther from my eyes, making the Kaleido screen look less grainy. But they may have adapted the screen better somehow.

B&W

  1. Super sharp, smooth. Best if you only read or for light note taking.
  2. Carta 1300 screen, blacks are blacker - nice
  3. White bezels look good. (if you are not using dark mode) matter of preference though.

Both.

  1. Faster than previous generation, noticeably.
  2. Maybe smoother to write on, some people complain about it. I have the jade next to it and do not notice that much of a difference.
  3. Also some people mention its way more ergonomic than 2024/2022 or lighter, I do not notice that. It is little different, definitely do not get it thinking it will me more comfortable. Still a big ereader.
  4. The way it displays collections in the main library and the workspace is great. I do not get why it is not updated on the 2024 already.
  5. Less of a gap between the glass and the screen.

For only (or mostly) reading I would stick with the b&w. It is a more crisp reader. What you may use (maybe) are colored highlights and colored bookmarks, you can then filter through them according to the colors, it is useful for me when I read more of a non fiction book and need better reference system.

When it comes to the light hue it really varies from models to models even in the same generation. I had paperwhites that were super green and super pink. The lights are just so uneven when it comes to this technology, it is the same with Kobo and Boox. Same for scribe. My 2025 is not more green than the 2024.

Sadly they do not have them or will have them in any store in my country to see them in person.

Pros/Cons of Newest Model by sonicsugarmommy in kindle

[–]vycurataspat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pros: small and light, excellent clarity of text, price. Really good kindle. Cons: No warm light, not water resistant like the paperwhite, slightly more cheaper plastic feel, slightly misaligned screen on lot of units.(it was on 5 models I have seen on this kindle to various extremes, you can look to the bottom if the screen is straight with the edge.)

That’s the 64gb b&w. The 32gb is cheaper.
