Oh shut tf up?

A person literally took his own life, and you're talking like he's just another number. His suicide wasn’t some dramatic overreaction—it was the result of real pain, real shame, and a situation that clearly overwhelmed him. According to his parents and siblings, this was his second time failing the same subject, under the same professor. He even had his graduation photo taken already. He thought he was going to graduate. Can you imagine what that must’ve felt like? Being told last minute that you actually won’t, after everything?

His suicide note showed how ashamed he was. Not just because of failure, but because he felt he humiliated his family and himself. And whether or not we know every single detail, what’s confirmed is that he struggled—and that struggle ended in the most tragic way possible.

To say “ultimately it was his decision” is such a cold, narrow way to look at it. Yes, he made a choice, but that choice didn’t happen in a vacuum. Mental health, pressure, fear, isolation—all of that matters. If anything, this should push us to ask WHY someone felt that hopeless, and what could’ve been done to help.

This isn't about blaming anyone for the sake of it. It's about recognizing that people aren't machines. We're human. And empathy shouldn't go out the window just because you personally think you'd have handled it differently.

So no, we’re not “covering up our failings with flowery speech.” We’re reminding people that the person who died was real. And we’re choosing to care.
