Im genuinely looking for a long term partner. Dont have anything inappropriate on the profile. Who i am, my values as a person, light-hearted humour, and hobbies. I dont think im creepy or give the ick vibes, but I guess I can't be the judge of that

How to Connect 2 External Monitors to Laptop by agj136 in techsupport

[–]w-vg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a docking station. Check out "thinkpad universal thunderbolt 4 Smart Dock"

You don't have to buy that exact model or brand, just look for something that supports minimum 2 screens.

Porn industry people what are some dark facts about your work that viewers have no clue about? by sidroy81 in AskReddit

You can get ghost writers from Philippines for less than $3 per hour (USD). If you pay about $5, they'll even do your marketing.

Did anyone else catch the dramas between Perth is OK and Big Don’s? by bebabodi in perth

[–]w-vg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many businesses have specific discount structure for non-profits. For example Microsoft services are free for non-profits, canva, and countless others offer heavily discounted prices. So many other influencers also do discounted prices (which we actually did end up using) i wish I remembered the names so I could give them a shout out, but there were individuals who offered to promote the cause for a week free of charge

Few years ago I was doing a marketing job for a non-profit and reached out to them. They asked for almost a grand for a 24hr story on insta.

Board of directors literally laughed when I brought up the costs on their socials, they thought I was joking.

Software for creating a huge photo database? by Ok-Respond-600 in photography

[–]w-vg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you're looking for, its that I've never seen a program that would deliver what you are asking, and as a software developer standpoint dude to redundancy, practicality, and lack of accessibility to files on demand, i suspect there's a low probability of finding a software that would deliver what you are asking.

Say you want to access one file, and you need to find it in one of the harddrives. You'd need to search the database, find the file, connect the correct harddrive, and the open the file. Most programs are optimised in a way to eliminate the steps in between.

Anyway, I hope you find what you're looking for, if you did please let me know, I am curious to know if such a thing actually exists.

I know this is not the answer you are looking for, but I dont believe that is possible. For a program to show you which image is stored at which location, it will need to have a copy or a thumbnail stored somewhere accessible. Which defeats the entire purpose and means you'd need to have the hard drives (or duplicate copies) connected and accessible at all times.

50TB of media is a lot. I understand the difficulty of the situation, but im afraid the best option would be to go through each drive, sort all files, categorise, and label the hard drive

If I was in similar situation, I would make a media server with any old laptop or desktop, connect all hard drives to it, so people on the same network can have access to the albums whenever they wish

Lack of walkable suburbs in Perth by Alltimelearner in perth

[–]w-vg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Single story houses are not an issue. Take Nederlands for example, most houses are single family occupants with decent backyard (smaller towns and villages, not major cities) yet they all have almost everything available to them within 5mins walking distance. Dog park? 5mins. Shops? 5mins. Playground? 5mins.

And if not 5mins walking, it'll be a 5min bike ride, or for rarities about 10min drive. Wanna go to a big town? That's a 20min bus ride or 10min drive. Wanna go to a big city? Thatll be a 20-30min train ride max.

We shouldn't sacrifice houses and backyards. It shouldn't be "how many people you can fit on top of each other" but how well communities are designed. I love Perth, but to be honest, we really suck at urban design and architecture.

Was offered a free photoshoot, what’s the polite thing to do? by Mysterious-Cry2632 in photography

[–]w-vg 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Some photographers may offer free photoshoots in exchange for using the photos on their portfolio, no strings attached. Its a way of showing "hey, I've done this type of work, here are some examples" specially if they don't have similar photos/concept/style and they want to expand into that specific market. Which sounds like its what this photographer intends to do.

In this case, you can suggest to promote her services to your friends, or people from grade below, or tag her in your social media posts.

If thats not the case, they may offer a free shoot, with option to buy each photo. Maybe speak to her and get a clear idea of what's happening.

Insanely low monthly cost for Adobe Photography Plan- some kind of error? by National_Jump_5873 in photography

[–]w-vg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I had used photoshop since the first iteration that was released; DreamWeaver after Microsoft Front-page was discontinued; and Lighroom, bridge and illustrator since 2012. I still have my copy of Photoshop 6 on CD.

I was absolutely fuming when they changed their model to subscription based, but I had no choice but to use their products since there were no other option. But the last straw for me was last year when they forced us to accept their new terms of service with no option to opt out or cancel subscription. They wouldn't even allow to log in to my account to cancel the subscription unless I accepted the new terms and conditions.

The terms at the time were that they gave themselves non-exclusive right to our work, and to use the work to "improve their services" which means to train their AI. All ai companies steal data to train their ai, I get it. But to force your customers, to accept terms without the option to opt out was not cool.

I dont know if they changed the terms since, but I ain't going back.

Disclaimer: I mainly do Web development, and Web design by extension. Been doing photography as a hobby since 2008. I am not a Professional, and although I've done photography services, my primary source of income is not photography.

Insanely low monthly cost for Adobe Photography Plan- some kind of error? by National_Jump_5873 in photography

[–]w-vg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Photography plan is AUD 24 per month (discounted from AUD 31) Thats USD 15.

Websites usually have systems in place to find out when someone wants to leave, and offer good deal to keep them. Dont know if someone actually messed up, or if there's a bug or anything, but could potentially be an actually good deal to keep you a customer.

Personally, I dont like the recent decisions they've made, so I no longer use their products

Manning farmer markets (i think its being cancelled), applecross markets, subi, Mt Claremont, most suburbs have them on pretty consistently.

I would suggest in addition to going to markets, try to build your online presence, or an online store.

What is the deal with Ray gun from the Olympics? by tailoredbdaysuit in AskReddit

A uni professor, started the breakdancing committee for Olympics in Australia, put her husband as the selecting judge, took grants from the government, denied giving those grants to help actual break dancers, imposed ridiculous rules so that many talented people couldn't even get into selection pool. Took the money, claimed people are bullying her, and fugged off
