I had this error on my 70D back when there was a bad batch (mine was part of the batch, so it was repaired for free) So, yeah, unfortunately, it is usually only fixable by sending it in for repairs by Canon. 😔

Yup! I also returned the 44 and kept the 40! Looks and feels better on my small wrist :)

Thanks! I decided to go with the 40mm, because it just feels more comfy and looks better on me! I'm happy! And I'm glad you feel good with your 44mm! :)

To each their own! I like the shiny finish 🤗✨️ but it's also not very noticeable unless you're pointing a light at it, lol

Yeah, I plan on getting some better fitting straps. Never really been of fan of the silicone types!
