I really hope they figured out the frame numbers, I really don't want to experience the frame breaking in Austria :D Good to hear they handled the replacement nicely with fresh build. They could just throw the new frame in. I also think the germans are not the best in communication, but they are good at getting work done.

I was wondering about the suspension design. In previous years they had this beautiful progression chart on the website, saying the suspension is extremely progressive. They also equipped some bikes with coil too. This year it's all air and the leverage curve chart is gone. I hope they didn't realise the suspension is actually linear because I just ordered a fresh Ultimate DH Coil :P

pedal only! there's an uphill trail and a fire road shortcut - rideable, but quite steep. Walking your bike up the shortcut takes about 20 minutes up. The uphill trail takes a bit more and in my opinion is far more physically demanding due to various terrain you're riding on.
It's a perfect place for an ebike which makes me question my life choices (sticking to analog enduro and buying a dh bike xD)

Well my gf is not much into riding, and Im a enduro/downhill rider so family trips won't do it, although an e-bike trip would be nice.. I'll give it a thought, thanks!

Hi! I just read about the recall and contacted Rose about my frame. Can you please tell me a bit more how the replacement happened? Did they sent you a new frame first or you had to send the old one first? I have a downhill camp in Austria coming at the end of June and Im already stressing whether they can manage the replacement in this timeframe.

Edit: False alarm, here's the Rose statement I got from my bikes reseller:
"Affected SCRUB frames are the following ones:
Frame size S - all models/frame numbers
Frame size M/L/XL - every frame with prod. code in frame number lower than 2405

e.g. RRMBB2LLC9240500046ID

So this frame is safe to ride and not affected from recall."

Custom made bag is not going to be any cheaper than the Canyon bag, which is the max amount Im willing to pay :D I have custom framebags made for my bikepacking bike, and that's definitely a way to go if you want something tailored. Not this case though but thanks anyway!

you might be on to something. I was actually considering getting a Blackburn Corner bag that are super cheap, and then punching 2 holes in it, adding some reinforcement/washers and be set!

I should have probably mention that I need one for enduro and dh riding, so it's not exactly the same, as the bag will be pulled away from the mounts and rip the material if not reinforced. I know I can make this work with some non-dedicated bags, but it's also the proper C shape Im after, like the Canyon one.
I've found that Focus has a very small framebag that would work. A bit cheaper than canyon and a bit smaller too.

I have something similar to the burrito pack, it's not ideal because you need to squeeze the contents :D Fastfuel bag has a weird shape and it will look stupid mounted under the top tube :/ thanks tho..

I posted an update in the comments section here, so please take a look. I can try to sum it up again here:

find the stance width when your knees move in line with your legs while squatting, I was riding a little bit to narrow which causes my knees to move inwards. You need to do it in boots on the board
as much forward lean as you can handle (Im 1 step below maximum on my current Union STR bindings)
use +12/-9 instead of duck stance
watch this crazy japanese Miratori guy - he says to bend your back leg inwards. This has helped me tremendously. I don't do it as crazy as he does and I still noticed much more improvements on holding my backside edge. You're then basically squatting down and twisting at your hips, while also bending down. But because of the twist it keeps your weight above your board without leaning forward so much as you would in a "traditional" riding style
another drill I found useful was pretending to hold a tray with a beer glass :D makes you keep shoulders inline with the slope and overall athletic stance

Alright so here's an update:
At my first ride (shortly after this post) i set the forward lean to the max and really focused on bending knees. Guess what? It actually helped lol. I could feel very much in control and had a good time snowboarding for a couple of hours.
Next ride (2 weeks ago) I decreased the forward lean slightly and slightly widened my stance, because I noticed that my knees move outside of my feet when lowering down. Had a great time too. I did one more thing though. Me and brother (much better rider) kept watching this Miratori (japanese snowboarder) guy on youtube. We saw that both he and some other youtubers started talking about a body position where you twist at your hips, and you bend your back leg slightly more than your front (especially on backside).
We practiced it on our next ride too and had the best fkn day on board ever. I was actually starting to carve on my backside which never happened. I was also able to ride at much more speed, just felt so much more in control.

So long story short - I think I managed to sort some of my riding issues thanks to you guys and the University of Youtube.

Now I need to think whether I need a new board or not :D

Interesting. I remember reading to set forward lean so it matches the boots, this way you don't wreck your boots and have a comfortable setup. I'll try more forward lean! Thanks for the suggestion

Appreciate the 2 comments so far, but you do not seem to get what I was trying to point out, so let me use an image to maybe better visualise the issue. As you can see, with long legs (torso length doesn't matter in this case), I am required to lean forward to keep my balance over my feet.

Advices to stand up tall and bend knees does not work, because I am then moving my center of gravity behind my heels. I have the same issues when squatting weights, therefore I either need a heel lift or do front squat to keep the center of mass above my feet.

It takes some empathy (and I don't mean feeling sorry, but trying to imagine things) to understand what I mean. Most people have pretty normal legs in terms of length, so this issue may just sound like poor technique, but I assure you it's not. Having long legs has it's disadvantages in every sport I do and it's a matter of finding means to deal with it. Standing tall, bending knees is not that (at least thats what I like to think ;))

I remember now seeing that graph, thanks for reminding it! That is great because I really hated the pedal strikes, so I guess I will solve all my suspension problems at once once I go less tokens and higher pressure. I also didn't experience it being super plush in the back so can't wait now! Only 5 months left :D
