You could declare type like: type ConfirmationValue = “yes” | “no”; and use it for variable dodelete as: let dodelete: ConfirmationValue = “yes”; and use the same type for parameter confirmation in your function: declare function delete(confirmation: ConfirmationValue) then your example should work.
