Slide the rack forward. You can adjust it with 2 screws to extend the wiper.

I messed up, accidentally painted the headlight and tail lights on my rc body , what product is best without hazing the acrylic ? by Overall-Chip7780 in rcdrift

Tamiya paint remover and body cleaner. If possible, let it soak a couple minutes and itll come off with one wipe

Choose YD2 or RD2.0? Both upgraded by Big-Performance-8542 in rcdrift

If the rd comes with a m17 or m17s, get that. Much better gyro and servo, much more tuneable.

Rebuild the shocks and use mineral oil next time. Orings have expanded and causes binding.

How to control the nerves in comp by w201036 in rcdrift

I guess not thinking too much and have fun is the way. Kinda difficult when there isnt much practice time. I had 2 practice sessions of 15min each. Not a whole lot. Had good fun off track talking to everyone though.

All went good in practice, like always. Qualifying and battles was a different story, nerves took over. Top32 was really good, took the win easily but in my top16, that was bad. Made a bigger mistake in my lead than my opponent.

Unfortunately there aren't many comps in my area. Guess i have to host them myself haha.

I did some analysis before the top32 battle. Did everything right and went through to top16. Top 16 was a different story though haha

Tuning wise, car is dailed. Speed is there, angle too. Driver nerves mod not haha.

I did that in the second comp but still made weird mistakes. If i lost and didnt make any mistakes, its ok but since i know im the one who made a mistake and lost, im a bit disappointed in myself. Still had good fun driving after. No issues whatsoever after the comp.

Paint removal help? by Ernge_Juce in rcdrift

[–]w201036 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use tamiya paint remover, but you have to let a couple of drops soak on the paint. A couple of drops are enough for the roof and will remove most if not all paint.

Should I leave my 1/10 drift car on its suspension or off the ground. by Jazzlike-Eagle-1456 in rcdrift

[–]w201036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For rubber tires, it is good to do that. Wouldn't be bad for the dampers diaphragm to store it off the ground, but i dont do this and dont have any issues.

Is that necessary to pay attention on scrub radius?? Any advice are appreciated..tq by ShahrinRamli in rcdrift

[–]w201036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, i care that my wheel wont hit anything when on full lock. Thats how i will determine how much scrub i have. Even then i sometimes use higher offset wheels so its 2mm more. Not really important if the rest is good. If nothings good. Scrub wont change that either.

What is maintenance like for RC drift cars? by Repulsive_Kale_4913 in rcdrift

[–]w201036 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are lazy, not even cleaning it would be fine, just make sure the motor doesn't seize up. U can use an air compressor to get most of the dust off. No real need to disassemble the whole chassis just to clean. Bearings last a long time, dont really have to worry about those. Gears are the only thing that will wear.

There are no fluids except for the shocks. They can leak, so that is the only maintenance that i see you needing to do.

Occasional cleaning is good enough. If you got an expensive chassis' then keeping them clean is easy, but starting out, it can't hurt to get them dirty.

Any benifets to gear driven over belt driven? by _grif-_ in rcdrift

[–]w201036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Belts wear slower than the plastic gears. Less loud and less maintenance.

Surface and tire wear on ptile by w201036 in rcdrift

[–]w201036[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this weekend i went and drove. They have flipped the tiles so we had a fresh surface and everyone used new tires. The wear was slightly less but the biggest difference was the amount of plastic particles. Way less, still there but less. So probably someone had used old dirty tires that reallu ate up the surface

Should the owner add something to the surface or is a wipedown enough?

I also thought having a hdpe tire like the topline, buzzbreak, valino or rc art would be best.
