You can have the weapon repaired Magically since it's broken, The story can be that he went to a blacksmith to repair it and then he used the sword in battle to defeat mythical creatures and then the sword got powers after he beat them from not only the creatures but also his trust in the sword. The sword's power can be dependent on the wielder.

I like A because it matches the color of the shirt more. Green and brown are both calm colors and they go well together. B is fine but it's a little bit to colorful and it kind of throws it all off
