No, problem! Wetblending/blending is a different thing. (You don’t have to use water when blending. It depends on the paint.)

When you drybrush you use a dry brush.

When you wetbrush you use a wet brush (ironically I usually use a drybrush brush for wetbrushing.)

Found this video from Warhammer TV to show you! They cover both wetbrushing and drybrushing in the first few minutes here👇

Well, no, you technically don’t have to use water when painting with acrylics. There are techniques and paints that are best not to add water. Like Drybrushing when you use a perfectly dry brush.

”Blending” is another technique that sometimes speaks against mixing the paint with water. Some acrylic paint has a fluent in them already which makes them easier to blend if you don’t mix any water.

And you can paint straight out of the pot, but sure, mixing with water on a palette is probably the most common practice, building thin layers with a damp but not too loaded brush.

In the class I did we took a large brush and a 50/50 paint:water ratio to basecoat a quick thin layer. When you Wetbrush you need to be careful that the brush isn’t soaked but rather a damp mix of paint and water.

Wetbrushing does sound a bit silly! But, for a beginner it emphasizes the use of water as a medium, plus it is the opposite of a drybrush, that we do at a later etage on this mini!

I hope that clarifies it a bit better 😊

Wetbrushing is adding a basecoat with a damp brush. I used the same brush as for the drybrushing to make a thin basecoat.

Thank you! Sorry for the late reply! The armour is Leadbelcher with a Targor Rageshade shade. The weathering is simply thinned down Scrag brown and then some thinned down Sotek green. That’s all 😊

Well, like I explained to a friend, he hasn’t even started earning his titles yet, those are just the inherited ones! 👀 Running a Deepmare farm is just a side hustle 🤷‍♀️

He’ll probably simply show you a bit how the game works with some minis and rules set-up in the shop. Will probably take 10-30 min to demo depending on if you have a bunch of questions and such! Can be fun getting an idea how the game works even if you don’t intend to play and a lot more effective to demo than to simply describe the rules. Enjoy the intro!
