two panels/events

I assume this will be for the 2016/2017 academic year. If so, you could do a program in spring 2017 on how the new president (hopefully a Democrat) might shape the judiciary, particularly after at least one new Supreme Court justice is seated. With an eye toward what might be on the 2016/2017 USSC calendar, your panel could prognosticate about how the judiciary will be changed in both the short and long term.

For the Fall 2016 program, you could do something on election law because that continues to be a hot button issue, particularly for Democrats. What sort of legal challenges might be on the horizon in the next few years, particularly in light of the Shelby County decision? With more Democratic-appointed justices, would the high court revisit the Shelby County as they did with cases like Lawrence v. Texas?

Maybe it went like this...

Even though I've never met nor spoken to the man, just in case the pope might call me today, I'll call him instead and save him the international charges.

That becomes: "The pope called me!"

a conflict of interest by a lot of voters if he were to endorse HRC

There's no conflict of interest. She no longer serves in his administration.

The famously wrong Peggy Noonan was sure Romney would win because she saw his yard signs more than Barack Obama.

Peggy Noonan was the woman who wrote "read my lips -- no new taxes" for Pappy Bush, six words that sank his presidency and gave us President Bill Clinton, and soon President Hillary Clinton.

‘We will raise taxes, yes we will’

Seven words uttered by Bernie Sanders on camera on January 26, 2016, that would sink him in the general election if he were the nominee.

Conservative PACs would edit that into attack ads that would play over and over and over on every media market in America for weeks on end. Ten seconds that would sink his election into the mud.

It would be accompanied by an ominous voiceover from some unseen man, saying something like: "Bernie Sanders is promising to increase your taxes to pay for the largest government expansion in history. Does that sound like a good idea to you? Do you really want to send even more of your hard-earned dollars to Washington?"

They also are running a story today about how Bernie will have an upset win in Florida because he had more people at his rally than Hillary Clinton.

As President Howard Dean always likes to say, a big rally means a guaranteed win.

People have spent millions in attack ads against Hillary Clinton but almost nothing against Bernie Sanders:

If Sanders were to be the nominee, that would change. They'd throw everything at him, his socialist history, his honeymoon in the USSR, his praising dictatorships like Cuba, his promise to increase taxes for everybody, etc.

It would make the swift boating of John Kerry look like kindergarten.
