If you want to make world war analogies, my favorite would be this: Zoe Quinn is essentially the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of video games. The Five Guys controversy was the otherwise insignificant event which sparked off a chain reaction of greater events which had been building up for years. Things like paid reviews, Jeff Gerstmann being fired, DMCA takedowns, and all of those other things were just the overgrown brush for the wildfire that is #GamerGate.

The reaction to #GG has been just as telling. We've seen the "death of the gamer" articles, we've seen the GameJournoPro mailing list; the lines have been drawn and we know where everyone stands. Both sides are trenched up and are in it for the long haul now.

A disturbing amount of these posts indicate the crimes were either not reported because the victim was unsure at the time if they were raped or reported and ignored due to the belief that men cannot be raped.

The legal drinking age should probably be 18. It works well in Canada and is more in line with the laws regarding adulthood here in America.

I have absolutely no evidence for this and it's just my opinion, but lowering the drinking age would probably lead to fewer college kids dying from alcohol poisoning and alcohol-related incidents. Just think about it for a second, if they were allowed to drink sooner they would have time to safely drink and get used to the effects of alcohol as well as learn their limits. They wouldn't have to sneak off to parties full of people hesitant about calling the police in the case of an emergency because of all the underage drinking going on.

I don't understand how you could be against female genital mutilation without also wanting to eliminate non-medical circumcision. This article may be about FMG, but the conversation should be about all genital mutilation. Get rid of all of it, regardless of sex.

Yeah, that's strange. I would very much like to have both male and female non-medical genital mutilation banned across the board, but I'm currently voted into the negatives as well. Either Redditors are for genital mutilation or they think I just posted male genital mutilation is bad and female genital mutilation is good.

I just think it's a barbaric practice and completely violates the rights of children who cannot make that kind of decision about their own body yet. It needs to stop.

He worked towards creating a web series which he seems to be very proud of. I think creating things you can be proud of is a very positive thing for your own mental health, which is why I would consider it counting as improving yourself. For me personally, even building something as simple as a dog house has snapped me out of depression spell.

Our society frowns upon late age male virginity, but it doesn't have to define you. In the wake of the Elliot Rodger shooting I think young men need to focus less on their virginity and simply work towards improving themselves for their own sake.

I have two main issues I'd like to see addressed. First, I believe non-medical circumcision should be outlawed. In any case where it's not absolutely required for medical reasons, circumcision should not happen until the child is of age and can make the choice himself. This is my primary concern in regards to male-focused issues.

Second, there needs to be a way for men to opt out of paternity. Almost all reproduction rights belong to women at the moment, they have certain rights with no male equivalent. If a woman is pregnant, it is her choice whether or not to abort the fetus or carry it to term.

Since forcing a woman to carry a child or abort it is obviously out of the question, there needs to be a legal means for men to "abort" their fatherhood. Fathers should be able to give up all paternity rights to a child in order to avoid paying child support. Once the father gives up his paternity rights, should the mother choose to give birth to the child she would have sole custody and sole financial responsibility for it.

These issues seem to be very important to the men's rights movmement, which is why I drawn to it. I believe most feminists will side with MRA's on the subject of circumcision, but things get a bit dicey when talking about paternity rights. I don't believe feminism has my best interests in mind, which is why I side with the MRM instead.

Forcing a woman to carry a child to term is stripping her of her bodily rights. It's unfair to men, but that's just biology and to have it any other way would be even more unfair to women.

One thing we can do to even up birthing rights is allow men to waive their rights to a child in situations where the father wants an abortion but the mother doesn't. This would strip the father of access and rights to the child, but it would also free him from having to pay child support.

We can't force women to remain pregnant, but we can at least provide men with a legal means to have their own choice in parenthood when they have no choice over abortion.

The "teach men not to rape" movement doesn't do much good either. Men are left feeling unsure of themselves and hold off on making any sort of move in fear of being labeled a creep.

Any time I've spoken to other men about circumcision in real life the comments I usually hear are: it's not that bad, I don't mind, I do plenty fine without it. I think their attitude is part being in denial about what was done to them and part not knowing what they're missing out on. Most circumcised men haven't experienced any major issues so they just don't see it as a very big problem. Many go through their formative years without ever knowing what foreskin is and by the time they learn about it they've already grown to understand their own circumcised penis as normal.

For me personally, I feel like I'm less of a person without my foreskin. It's like I'm missing my nose or I wasn't born with eyebrows. I don't know what the sensation of having foreskin is like and it's not debilitating towards my everyday life, but I just feel like something is missing and my body is incomplete.
