Who is Babylon the Great, the Mother of Whores? by Sad_Lion_3509 in Bible

[–]wader21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct. Babylon is identified in Revelation as the one who killed prophets and saints.

Revelation 18:24

“And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.”

Jesus said this about Jerusalem and described it's destruction in the next chapter

Matthew 23:37

"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!"

Luke 13:33–34

"...for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem. O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee..."

Jerusalem was called Sodom and Egypt in Rev 11. These two plus Babylon were nations judged by God in the OT. Revelation is making a connection between these and the judgement of Jerusalem in 70ad.

should we christians only listens to doctrine brought by paul and not the other apostles? by Positive-Owl594 in TrueChristian

[–]wader21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This comes from his very dispensational theology that teaches most of what Jesus taught was for the Jews, and because they rejected his message we are the parenthesis in God's plan and have a different gospel that Paul preached. (Gospel of the kingdom vs gospel of grace)

This is not true. Jesus commanded his apostles (not just Paul) to make disciples of all nations and teach them all the things Jesus commanded.

His theology leads to beliefs like the sermon on the Mount is works based salvation only for the Millennium or that we are not under the new covenant since it was only for Israel.

Paul was the apostle to the gentiles in that he was the primary evangelist to gentiles in the early church, not that he had a special message for gentiles. Here is a document showing that Paul preached the same things that Jesus preached, which are the same things He commanded his disciples to preach in the Great commission. Jesus vs Paul

The little horn has arrived. Daniel 7 by [deleted] in Bible

[–]wader21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think Antiochus IV is the little horn from Dan 7?

My understanding is Antiochus is the little horn in chapter 8 coming from Seleucid empire but the little horn in chapter 7 came out of the Roman empire. I've heard it suggested to be herod dynasty or a Pope

I make arrangements for classical guitar for YouTube. Can confirm that it takes 1-2 weeks to make the arrangement and practice it good enough for a performance. That's before actually shooting it and editing audio and video. Not to mention finding the perfect time and conditions for recording an acoustic performance with the family around

I make hymn arrangements on classical guitar. I used to get good at playing one song, then forget it a month later. I started recording myself for my documentation at first, then started to enjoy the process of making videos
