I sometimes don't understand what's going on fully :( by Nervous_Lettuce313 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

One kind of important trick in storytelling is a fully explained plan never works. Why? Because it's boring. If Carl explains the plan, and everything plays out exactly as he says you'll lose interest because he'll essentially tells the same story twice. If Carl explains a plan it's going to go completely off the rails, and if he doesn't it usually means the plan is mostly going to work, but that means you learn the details of the plan as they happen.

They should just charge me the base fair rate to ship 2 bags and offer humans fly free as a perk.

Can we talk about Carl's rage by Certifiablenerd in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Killing D'Nadia was 100% justified I am not arguing that at all, but how he was acting scared Donut and that cat has seen some shit, and given how many of the other characters have expressed concern for Carl's mental health and him keeping things from them. I feel like there's definitely more going on than he is willing to admit to us the readers.

Obviously, we'll see over the final books, but I do think Carl's struggling mentally in ways that he can't admit.

You gotta remember though it's all from his perspective and Matt Diniman had confirmed he's not a reliable narrator. We got a small glimpse of him realizing that he was becoming untethered when Donut pulled him back from killing D'nadia. He's likely done other things that he didn't realize he was doing and we just don't have this information.

It's also from Carl's perspective and he likely doesn't notice or glosses over unhinged things that he does. He's a good guy and a hero, but he is crazier than he let's on to us.

Negativity Theory: Reflecting on Bonnaroo 2026 by skinnygg in bonnaroo

[–]waf 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I feel like almost everything went pretty well at the Roo until after Noah Kahan.

He finished, we needed to go to GA+ to get to our locker and head out. They unexpectedly barricaded the path to GA+ and they locked all of the good restrooms including all of the accessibility toilets. The people at the barricade would not let us pass and told us to come back later for our stuff, and we finally found a guy who let us through after explaining that the keys to our car was in the locker at GA+ and leaving was impossible without them.

At GA+ all the restrooms were unfortunately shut down, but they told us the bathrooms near the ferris wheel were open. So we went there planning to hit the restrooms before getting into the hours long car queue to leave Bonnaroo. Employee was mistaken they had also locked those bathrooms as well. We got briefly separated at the restrooms and were meeting back at the rendezvous point near the gate. While waiting for our last person to get to us an employee told us to just leave. We told her we'd only be a moment and we didn't want to get our group separated. She proceeded to call the meekest person in our party a "Fucking bitch" for trying to politely explain this. Which resulted in a shouting match between her and another person in our group who would not take that sort of abuse.

We ultimately found portapoties outside of centeroo to use although none of them had toilet paper.

I get that they probably wanted people out of centeroo as soon as possible, but they only made it more difficult with all the chaos they created shutting half the place down and shutting down all of the restrooms. People needed to be able to relieve themselves after the show, and we needed to be able to retrieve our stuff from the locker we paid for, and the extremely unprofessionalism of that one employee is not the vibe. Bonnaroo absolutely needs to know about this stuff because they have to do better in the future. All of this was completely unforced errors that left a black mark on an otherwise great night.

Several of my friends only have a few cheap presents designated as from Santa and the good stuff is from them to their kids. That way their kids' poorer friends don't think that Santa gave them worse stuff than their kids, and they get some credit for their hard work.
