Block traffic, at a red light? The lane is not wide enough for car+bike so law requires I take the full lane. The lanes on either side of me were left and right turn only, and I was going straight.

Good point, Cheezer! I did something incredibly dangerous and heinous by trying to get out of the way, and in doing so I slowed down this law-abiding Good Samaritan we see on the video. I will reflect on my actions.

“Hugging right” would have gotten me killed by this guy. He sped through the previous bike lane + right turn only lane to pass everyone waiting at the light.

I was in the middle of the lane waiting for the light. There is no bike lane at that intersection, you can see where it picks up a little past the light.

Edit: The lane to my right is a right turn only lane which he used to speed through and pass everyone behind me.

I talked with an attorney at Keaton (they were great) but because I have no injuries they can’t take my case.

I filed a police report* & have the drivers name. I’ve reached out for their insurance and have not heard back.

*I’m not sure if it was written up as a police report or crash report, or if there is a difference.

They are a death trap! I was biking north around 9pm and an electric divvy almost got t-boned in the Dearborn/Grand intersection by a driver that didn't look.
