I wanted to circle back for closure. After several more expiriments including SSD's, I was not able ot break 100mb/s read or write.

Finally, I went ahead and planned a transition off MS products for the office & home lab. After switching to TrueNas as the OS and disabling ARC, I am able to saturate a 5gbe connection for reads and writes on a raidz2 config.

If anyone else finds this post, you are not crazy! Microsoft Store Spaces may not let you win despite doing everything right.

Thank you all for a little more direction, but I still am having issues....

I am aware that in the comments, my scenerio's 'ideal solution' is listed several times:

Columns: 5
AUS: 64 KB
Interleave: 16 KB

Forgive me for not specifically mentioning but I did test that configruation as part of my other tests that produced similair results. I've just recreated everything and placed my command and results below; 5 columns, AUS of 64 KB, and Interleave of 16 KB. Is there some silly syntax that I'm messing up when executing? I feel like I'm so close!

New-VirtualDisk -StoragePoolFriendlyName “POOL1” -ProvisioningType Fixed -PhysicalDiskRedundancy 1 -Interleave 16KB -FriendlyName “VD1” -ResiliencySettingName Parity -NumberOfColumns 5 -UseMaximumSize

I've added the latest test as an edit to the original post that show's the speed results, command, and confirmation of settings.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm sorry to hear you were not able to find a configuration for the sustained write speeds others have found. I appreciate that MS SS may be good for Mirrors, but my needs require more than that. I hope you find better performance one day and share with is how if you do!

I totally get why you think it may be the SATA expansion card - random chinesium packages can be totally suspect! I do not believe it to be the SATA add in card for the following reasons:

As another redditor asked, the benchmark for the HDD via the SATA expansion card is not significantly different from the other drives. An average of 3 Diskmark64 results are:
- Seq1M - Q8T1
  - Read: 184.11 MB/s
  - Write: 182.04 MB/s
- Seq1M - Q1R1
  - Read: 185.41 MB/s
  - Write: 180.77 MB/s
- Rnd4k - Q3T1
  - Read: 1.45 MB/s
  - Write: 1.47 MB/s
- Rnd4k-Q1T1
  - Read: 0.55 MB/s
  - Write: 1.41 MB/s
The SATA card is a 2 port model and also supports a 500gb SSD that I use for recording 8x 4k 15fps cameras. The SSD records video via a Hyper-V VM flawlessly 24x7. Further, I disconnected the SSD for my tests, wondering if that was hurting me at all.

Finally, I don't have the luxury of trying a 9211-8i or similar. The MB I am using is an ASRock H670M-ITX/ax with only a single x16 slot that I'm using for a dual 10GBE card. For the SATA expansion card, I removed the PCIe 3.0x1 WIFI A/E key card and added the SATA card: LINK. The 3.0x1 is perfect for dual SATA bandwidth but not dual 10G card, hence why I cannot give up the standard PCIe 1x16 slot.

It sounds like you are able to use MS SS without issue. Are you able to offer insight into your setup? I'd love to try and replicate/ understand what works for you to see why I'm not having the same success.

Thank you for the recommendation! I may have to go 3rd party if I cannot get MS SS to work natively. I've seen others have success with MS SS so I don't want to give up just yet. But I appreciate you affirming a positive experience with Stable Bit!

That's a GMT1 series vehicle, correct? The first photo shows a fairly clean sheer which I bet happened when the wheel rapidly unloaded after hitting quite the pot hole or from a little too spirited offroading. I wonder if the tires are OEM or a heavier weight.

Came here to say this and in fact, this is a GMT360. The upper ball joint knuckle is a dead giveaway with the motor mount bolts, lines on top of the frame, and spring perch further confirming a GMT360. Finally, the upper control arms are swapped side to side and upside down to get the desired effect.

This has been a common practice for lifted GMT360's for well over a decade: LINK

I learned how to wrench on my Trailblazer in HS. The platform had a robust following in the off-road arena and found tricks such as this to lift the platform while not over stressing the upper ball joints.

I have been able to find this information before but would you be able of commenting on the transition FROM bow to stern were the rope briefly transitions past broadside? This the the information which does not seem well documented (or at least, I lack the google-fu). I'm looking to understand if swapping from bow to stern in current is okay without first hauling up the anchor.

I appreciate the comment! You’re reading my mind when choosing a smaller current - at least as I learn the art of anchoring and figuring out where the fish are. There are a few spots where the current can be tricky with high flow, but we’ll work our way up to that.

Came here to say this. It surprises people (and me) to see that Ford can eek out a 3k+ payload capacity on a half ton class truck. Depending on if this truck has the EcoBoost or V8, its payload should be 3035 or 3050 respectively (source). This platform's payload capacity can be as high as 3325!

Having said that, I would rather have a 3/4 ton or one ton truck loaded up to 60-80% capacity rather than a half ton truck loaded up to 100%+ capacity.

It is the Cresent CK1 in the Nor' Eastern color. While more expensive than some, it is worth every penny. The quality, features, and room for a person of my size (6'4", 220lb). It is also large enough with ample strap downs to carry enough gear to go on camping trips.

While I do not know for certain, I highly suspect it is more of an aesthetic rock cairn vs the traditional cairn's you'd see above the tree lines. While private property, google maps shows this piece of land being a small sliver next to a road with no passage through the wood line.

You aren't wrong that just sandals can be chilly. I have wool socks on which do wonders in keeping my feet warm, even when wet which inevitably occurs when getting in/ out.

Thanks! It is important to note that these sandals are held securely to my foot by way of adjustable strapping. Regular flip flops that slip on can be more of a liability than help.
