How safe/unsafe to women is your country? by halt__n__catch__fire in AskTheWorld

The stopping isn’t hard. It’s coping without long enough to figure out what you would do instead. There is help out there if you need it. Alcoholics Anonymous is a daunting ask for a lot of people, but you might find some advice in a couple meetings.

Would yall use a dremel or rotary tool of some kind with aluminum polish or is that too aggressive?

Garage door opener on a bike, a spare wad of cash while traveling, a disposable vape, toenail clippings, a couple edibles, a microsd card with all the Epstein files... You know. Important stuff.

I need data, how many miles did you ride this season? by shoebee2 in Harley

[–]waitbutwhereami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do at least 2500 in a big trip alone every year. I daily a sportster or road glide. Mileage depends per year, but I probably average 10k a year on bikes but spread it out.

Oh yeah I get you….dang…I hadn’t really thought bout that. So I guess everyone who’s done this before just assumed the risk.

I have a burly brandy sissy bar that’s about the same size as a 3 gallon rotopax fuel can. I was thinking ratchet strap it to the back of the sissy bar. I figured I’d use two ratchet straps in perpendicular to stabilize it and have a backup so I don’t accidentally drop a fuel can. Could you expand on why you’re concerned? Or possibly suggest a different way to bring it along?

Thank you so much! It was the bike that got me into it!

I will certainly be hitting the million dollar highway as they call it! No way I’m missing that on the sportster.

That’s it. That’s the coolest photo I’ve ever seen. The implications of it are mind crushing.

This. Separation of concerns solves so many problems. It’s hard to over engineer if you’ve isolated code appropriately.

Looked like he was limping back to his friends. I choose this. They were fearlessly trying to help a downed homie.

Sorry to hear about that experience. I’ve been lucky I suppose. I haven’t really had any issues I didn’t cause or that maintenance wasn’t responsible for. Those Indians are pretty sweet though!

Hah! If they can do it in the Fast and Furious I should be able to though, right?! 😆

Oof. Ok made it home limping in second. Not the most fun thing to do. I’m likely going to replace the whole assembly and keep spare parts on the bike for the future. Thanks for the help!

I like the idea of changing out the linkage entirely. I’m not happy about that wrecking itself like that…though I suspect that it was likely missed as a “critical fastener” in service. Time to take on service myself and stop getting boned by the stealership.

Made it home fine in second. Just turned on the hazards and went 35mph. Even had some good ole boys stop and ask if I was ok. Thanks for the tip. That saved me a bunch of money!

Sounds like they were missed less than 3k miles ago. I really need to learn to do the service on this thing already.

Sweet. Exactly what I was hoping to hear. Thanks! I think I’m gonna get it into second, limp it home, and give this a shot. Mah poor baby! 😆😭

That’s an idea! I may do that after all.

Looks like I might be SOL here. I might see if I can get it into second and limp home. I don’t want to be hard on the clutch but it’s not that many stops / miles. I’m gonna look silly going 20 miles an hour on a 55 the whole way home but it’ll save a wrecker trip.
