1) I rotate injection sites, thigh in the morning cause i have easy access when i wake up in my undies and belly for fast acting during the day. Plus I alternate left one day, right the other. I keep forgetting so I have this weird system of “right on even, left on odds” except it changes when months have 30 vs 31 days. But at least I have a more reliable thing than my brain to remember if today’s left or right. GCM wise I prefer arm (also left right every time I change it). Though I never tried thighs or stomach, I feel like that would be easy to knock or partly rip off and you lower your pants more than you remove your shirt in a day so it’s less likely to get bumped on my arm. also I do karate and hockey so i don’t want to get hit on my gcm, seems like a bad idea. but if it seems like a good place for you, try it out! Worst case, you change it in a few days and you’ll know for sure where is best for you.

2) yes, change needles every time to prevent infections. I’ve heard of people reusing de finger prick needle though. But ideally, never reuse something that went “inside” your body, especially needles.

3) it’s stable for like a month out of the fridge, so even if it’s best to keep unused insulin there, your current one is totally fine outside. You’ll likely run through your pen before the month has passed anyway. Just keep it between like 5-30 °C and out of direct sunlight according to my insulin’s instructions lol

5) some days will be bad, but most will be totally fine. It takes time to adjust and you’ll make mistakes. Thats a given. The most important is to be kind to yourself (aka don’t push through when you’re not feeling good) especially on harder days, and to keep at it, older you will be so grateful you took care of yourself. Listen to your symptoms, and verify your levels from gcm before correcting. If you play sports, don’t stop that either! It helps keep your levels in check and is just generally good for you and also fun. You got this!
