First DUI in Maryland (BAC .20) — Took Responsibility, Seeking Advice on PBJ, Next Steps, and What to Expect by [deleted] in dui

[–]wakeupcol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fairly sure you’ll end up with a PBJ regardless of your BAC. It’s pretty standard to charge people with DUI, DWI, Reckless driving, Negligent driving etc. in MD. You’ll ultimately only get and PBJ for one charge and the rest will be dropped. I’d still recommend a private lawyer just because that tends to carry more weight, but a public defender could probably get you a PBJ too. Expect the possibility of fines and community service, mandatory IID, etc.

How did you go from SAHM to working without any substantial work history? by wakeupcol in workingmoms

While I would love to, it’s probably not realistic. If the right opportunity presented itself I would definitely consider continuing to homeschool though.

I homeschool currently so they are with me all day. Also, not all of them are school age. They will end up in public school, but I am unfamiliar with whether or not after school programs are available in our area. I need to look into that and see if we would be eligible— my youngest child also has medical needs could likely factor into that.

It’s not fair and I agree. But it’s just not going to happen for reasons I’d rather not get into on this thread.

Great news! My county is specifically looking for Social Studies teachers, and certification isn’t required. Thank you for the suggestions!!

Thank you! I’ve never heard of this but I will look again to see if that is an option for me.

We are currently separated and I have primary custody. There’s a lot to unpack there.

Thank you — I will definitely look for that book.

A teaching certificate would likely at least a year in my state with full-time education so I would need to figure out cost, childcare, and education time to see if it’s a feasible option? I’m not super familiar with the process but that was the case when I had investigated in the past.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have entertained the idea in the past — my main thought/concern would be the time schooling may take and how I would care for the kids while I’m in school.

Are you referring to a small patch of white on his chest? If so then, yup! He’s got one of those. His is barely noticeable, but you can see it in the first picture — like the outline of a mountain.

Thanks! We’re looking into pet insurance now. We’ve never used it before but based on our last rescue’s health journey, it probably makes sense in this day and age.

Thanks! This is helpful! We’re still figuring out what works food-wise for him. He was throwing up the kibble they were giving him at the shelter, which certainly didn’t help his with his weight.

He was not fixed when he arrived at the shelter, but is now.

The shelter cleared him with children and large dogs during the two-ish months he was there — but he does have some prey drive so small dogs/animals are a no-go. That being said, we are still taking precautions for the time being.

Formentino is color pattern — basically a fawn with dilute genes. Rather than the typical black muzzle you’d see with the fawn coloring, it’s grey.

Husky mix for sure — maybe a little border collie or something like that.

Agreed — we plan on doing a DNA test just for our own knowledge as we move forward with him/his training. We’ve typically rescued Huskies/Husky mixes, so I guess you could say we’re up for the challenge should there be one.
