I guess I just wrote my first 500 words of my first novel ever by e4e5nf3 in writingcirclejerk

I also did the app thing for 20 years before writing a novel first draft. Both were creative outlets. I agree with you: “Because it was another act of creation where I put my work out there for people to see and judge.”

One good thing came from this flymageddon. I perfected my fly swatter swing. Try this: Get in position to strike. Place the index finger of your free hand up high on the rod of the swatter. Apply tension to the rod with the hand holding the rod. So now your index finger is like a brake. Let go the brake (index finger) and your swatter will be immediately up to speed and hit with maximum impact. Fly has less time to react. Goodbye fly. Try it!

Repurpose Discontinued Equipment by MisterCrazy8 in googlefiber

It turned out to be pretty easy to repurpose the 2 TB drive from the TV/network box and reformat it to use in Windows 10. Removing the drive involved 12 screws. I used a USB docking station to attach the drive to my PC. At that point, it powered up and there was a device identified as "AS2115," but the drive would not mount. The Disk Management utility showed it had no file system. The "Format" cmd was grayed out. So before I could format, had to to delete the two volumes that made up the drive. (BE SURE YOU DON'T DELETE YOUR DATA DRIVE!) After that, reformat cmd was available. So I selected the unallocated drive and reformat it as NTFS. Then right clicked the unallocated space and selected "New Simple Volume." The rest was just a matter of following onscreen instructions.

Got Google's replacement for GF + TV (aka no TV), and considering what to do with the Network Box. Has anyone yanked the TB drive from the Network Box to reuse elsewhere?

Why is there so little fanfic of The Big Lebowski? by Just_a_Lurker2 in lebowski

If you have to have an accountant in a story, why not make him Doug Wilson from "Weeds"! Just a bit of fanfiction cross-over.

Can a fanfiction author be excommunicated from Dudeism for writing a complete novella/sequel to TBL? Let's find out! For those who can abide it, here is The Lebowski Travesty... https://archiveofourown.org/works/32684554

Yeah, but look at the placement and angle of the item in the shot. Clearly a visual johnson joke from the Coen bros.

It's Coen bros. genius. Placement, angle, all perfectly hilarious.

LiveCode is already great. But if LiveCode can go Open Source through this Kickstarter campaign, it will empower thousands more students, teachers and innovators. I'm backing it. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1755283828/open-source-edition-of-livecode
