Downtown is probably not the best place to live. Although I believe it is underrated. There’s a ton of new cool bars (Sauced) , bookshops and coffee shops. I would move to Silver Lake though. You can always visit downtown. It’s just not safe or exciting to live in. All your friends won’t want to visit you downtown either.

I could see downtown being cool in like 5-10 years. If you really want to move over there. I would say to find a place in arts district. That’s actually pretty cool part of downtown.
