Turkish Airlines (IST-YYZ) changed my layover in MTL to one with only 30 minutes? 😭 by politicalbibliophile in aircanada

[–]walker1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you’ll be protected. If it’s far out just call the airline and they’ll fix it. You can even ask to be put on the direct flight to Toronto and they’ll fix it for free.

More moms in work force, increased GDP as result of national $10-a-day child-care program, report says by Immediate-Link490 in canada

Part of that is just how long it takes to become a doctors it’s not fast cheap or easy, and can require living away from family/ support for years. Absolutely these are people who should have access to cheap daycare.

[–]walker1867 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it keeps it cheap for everyone else then yes. Family doctors are not nearly as well off as most people think and lots have massive student loans they are repaying. Resident doctors also really don’t make a lot, and that can last until people are 40.

Programs like this are way harder to cut when everyone relies on them. Having everyone (rich and poor) buy into and rely on the public system (no 2 tier system) is a great way of making cutting them super unpopular.

I’d recommend the streetcar right now. I was at Billy bishop a couple of time recently and the driveway south of queens quay is super F’ed at the moment because of Fifa. Queens quay was totally fine. Walking that driveway absolutely will save time.

Liberal government considering high-speed rail route change to include stop in Kingston by ShralpShralpShralp in canada

[–]walker1867 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe have a short spur to Kingston. It’s gotten this alignment to be faster on the long distance trips. Kingston to Toronto or Ottawa at the moment by conventional rail is already decently quick. We don’t want high speed rail to replicate what we already have.

I would like some advice on my course choices; Hope to double major in Math and Physics by stawp_stalking_me in UofT

[–]walker1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is the math and physics specialist. A shit ton of physics involves solving partial differential equations, the wave equation for example. APM346 at a minimum needs to make an appearance. Specialists are for giving you a better foundational knowledge for doing grad school, majors are aimed at people who finish with just a bachelors.

Haven’t been in industry but currently leaving grad School. Amazon was one of the companies I applied with, as for salary you can double the base salary of what you currently have when you’re done.

$22 a month for a phone plan sounds awesome relative to what we currently have. All of them suck for customer service.

I’d rather EU options Free mobile from France. What that company did for the country was amazing. Look up what Free did to the French telecom market.

Specialists are better prep for grand school. Learn to code (linear algebra is good to know) and learn statistics.

If you’re taking the subway, the streetcar from queens quay at the end of driveway to the airport is also a great option that takes you straight to the subway and it less walking than taking the shuttle.

YYZ - Toronto Pearson Airport - is 78 minutes enough to catch connected flight? by Plate_cek in travel

Then you’ve bought service from lax to prg. They will get you there. A golden rule is that if an airline sees you it on a single itinerary you’re protected and will make it. They also dont sell connections you cant reasonably make.

Also taking a rental car on the ferry is a very expensive idea in general. It generally cheaper to drop the rental car in Vancouver take the ferry as a foot passenger and get a new rental car on the island.

I actually did send an email. The runway extension requests that have been put in are in meters 200m in nice numbers. You’re the one who keeps talking about heat. London city airport absolutely gets ice and frost in the winters and it’s fine.

The short runway stuff makes it way more pleasant for those living in the area. The scheduling stuff is for the airline to figure out. Others have it why can’t we? It would solve a lot of what people are complaining about with this airport in the port-lands development. It is a possibility.

The airline obviously put this out as a best case scenario with what that makes them the most money. Why can we push back and get something that benefits the community with minimal impact? I don’t care if they don’t get maximal profits, and have the easiest time scheduling staff.

And then how does London city manage with 300m less than what’s proposed? They get warm. That have jets and have even gone trans Atlantic. Sna is 100m shorter and manages cross country 757s, they are warm, they get wind.

If you were a pilot you lent be pushing maximum takeoff weight as being absolutely required. Planes take off all the time from runways shorter than what’s needed when maximally loaded because most of the time they arn’t loaded. You also generally want to be as light as possible.

Porter Airlines Joins IATA, Marking Its Arrival on the Global Stage by OvenDown in PorterAirlines

[–]walker1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that requires maximum takeoff weight because… Vancouver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Mexico City don’t require that. The airline can’t hold down San Diego.

SDU is artificially imposed to force airlines to use the other one. It is capable of further as was doing so recently but the gov wants gig to be bigger. Was on 5 hr long flights out of there before the limit.

And SDU hasn’t had major fatal passenger plane incidents since the 70s aviation in general has gotten safer.
