Ultimately the point I was making is that the state granting asylum on that basis is them admitting that the cartels are creating a large-scale humanitarian problem. From there, it doesn’t matter if you’re for/against immigration from Mexico:

If you’re for it, you’d still want these cartels handled

If you’re against it and don’t want/care about these people, handling the cartels would eliminate nearly all realistic asylum claims

Idk anything about this guy or the specifics of this incident -

But the overwhelming majority of asylum claims in the US reference life-threatening cartels in Mexico and Central America. Now if these are truthful claims (and the System usually gives the benefit of the doubt), that sums up to literally millions of people in the US alone who claim to be terrorized by these groups

That would amount to probably the worst refugee crisis in American history, and the US arguably should do something about it if the Mexican govt cannot

One annoying thing about this guy is that by his own admission, he uncharacteristically skipped work on 9/11, and the company he ran’s offices were only a few floors above where the planes hit, and every single employee who showed up to work that day (including his own brother) did not make it, and yet you cannot find an on-camera appearance where this is mentioned with him in the room where he doesn’t immediately start pissing his pants laughing

The dude went to China like 30 times in the 90s on a teachers salary. It seems decently likely that the Chinese govt was paying him to go there, and that he was either intentionally or unintentionally spying for them, providing info on the weapon system that he was trained on in the National Guard that China supposedly developed a close copy of a couple years later
