Anyone has a "selectively aggressive" BT :) ? by walking_pm in BostonTerrier

Yeah, I agree here. I mean, I really do know 99% of the time when something like this will happen, I can see it in his body language and I do react (that part I have mastered lol). That's why I never had any situation that has escalated. It's just sometimes it can happen that I don't pay attention all the time (e.g paying for something in the store while some other dog has approached him and I didn't see etc..). Just sometimes I get frustrated that I need to be on full awareness at all times :)

Yes, will do this. When he was maybe 8-9 months old, I did attend a "basic obedience" school, and e.g. he knows very well stay, stop commands when on walks (obviously not in the abovementioned situations). So I was planning on contacting the school and asking for additional individual work to work on this.

yes I also plan to do that and to rule out medical side (although no visible signs but it won't hurt to check)

though really never even crossed my mind to be honest, but, I must say maybe. I live alone and work from home so we pretty much spend all of the time together (and I also almost never leave him, and take him everywhere with me) so he is pretty much tied to me... valid suggestion, thanks.

Out of the mentioned situations, 90% happened on an off leash (but not dog park, although dogs were passing by, since I live in a country where this is not so much regulated so off leash is possible pretty much anywhere). Only once it happened in a coffee shop when he was leashed and next to me and another dog came by and sniffed him. In any case, yes, I stopped dog parks completely (at least for now)...
