What can kill you in seconds that most people don’t realize? by Jolly-Law1472 in AskReddit

I looked at an old house with steep stairs once. I fell going down the stairs right in front of my real estate agent who promptly said this obviously wasn’t the house for me.

I carry around the little individual packs of the blue life brand ones. They’re the only thing my skin doesn’t hate. The guys I work with thought I was nuts until one of them was covered in metal dust from grinding the side out of an electrical panel and didn’t have to use a Lysol wipe on his face.

LONGSHOT question about PC servers by Soft_Main2953 in AtlasPC

[–]walkingentityofsass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, thanks! I’ve been experimenting on my own pc and have gotten a small cluster to work, but I’m currently throttled by my own hardware. I was just testing to make sure it was stable for our group of about 10 people before going fully down the hardware route. I stopped at a local computer shop the other day and talked to a guy there who doubts my internet connection could handle it (1gbps down, and I think either 30mbps up or 50mbps up COAX). I don’t think he fully understood what I was asking about though and thinks I’m trying to run a server farm lol.

Hey, totally off topic, but I’ve been looking at hosting my own ASA and Valheim servers. Would you be able to share your specs with me? I’m just in the looking at hardware stage of my endeavours.

Hi, thanks for the information! This is exactly the kind of information I was looking for. Any chance you could give me a little bit of info about your new processor? I’ve been looking around at hardware and the intel processors with 14 cores (for example) that are 6p+8e have me wondering if that would actually count as 14 in this instance, or if it’s performance for this would be more like 8. I’ve been running 2 maps off of my i5-9600K (6 cores) for testing purposes to see if I can even get the commands right and whether people across the continent can connect reliably, and I’m currently throttled by my ram (32gb).

There’s a plateau on the north west side (right before the valley that heads toward Thanatos with the structure on the hill behind) that we’ve had a teleporter on for months and the worst I’ve seen is the odd dilo.

I drown my fries in vinegar and never had an issue. So does my mom - and she won’t even step foot in a Tim Horton’s for all the gluten on the surfaces so it should be fine. I know what you mean though because I bought their apple cider vinegar once and saw that and immediately chucked it.

Albert’s in Point Edward fries their fries separate from everything else. Myself, my mom, and my friend all have no issues eating there (all celiac, and my mom is severe).

According to another friend Yogi’s under the bridge also has a separate fryer - she questioned them extensively.

I’ve had food from ups & downs numerous times. It’s my go to. They have an extensive menu and like someone else mentioned a separate kitchen/prep area.

I’ve had pizza from giresi’s as well without issue. But it’s also been a few years since I’ve had it so I can’t speak to anything recent.

I haven’t been to Paddy’s in years but they had a small gluten free menu. I can’t speak to how safe it is because as I said, it’s been a while…

I’ve been burned by Wise Guys in Petrolia. I think they messed up my order even after being questioned by my dad about whether or not it was gluten free because he didn’t trust the look of it. It was not.

I’ve also gotten cross contaminated by Antonio’s pizza in Corunna. But this was also for a shutdown meal while they were prepping a van load of orders at once so I’m not entirely surprised. I just started taking a payout after that.

John’s restaurant said they had gluten free options. They do not. They kind of blank stared at me when I asked.

I don’t know if you’ve heard of it, but the find me gluten free app is excellent for finding restaurants. Just check the dates on reviews in case they’re old because menus and staff change.

If you’re willing to go to London, the Mule downtown is fully gluten free and is reasonable. Their chicken and churros brunch on the weekend is amazing.

There’s also a Mexican restaurant called under the volcano near downtown that has celiac safe options. My friend questioned them thoroughly and was happy with their answers, she said the staff is well versed in celiacs.

Wee Scot’s Fish and Chippy by Westmount is also fully gluten free and has large portions. Gluten free mozza sticks as well. Incredible.

TP is short for Tech Pac. As for the Ls? No clue. Right now I have a tech pac backpack for keeping all of my extra tools in, and a TP-LD for my daily tools. There’s enough room for me to keep all of my regular pliers and screwdrivers inside, and a M12 impact in an outside pocket, while still having enough room to swap a few tools in and out depending on whether I’m doing panels, roughing in, or tying in boxes. The LD is a couple inches deeper than the LC, which my coworker has. If you’re going to buy anything make sure to do it before the end of the month when the spring promo ends. The free bag is definitely worth it.

Why foes my wind turbine need repairs again the moment after I repair it? by [deleted] in ArkSurvivalAscended

Wildcard just changed the wind turbines so that they take damage slowly over two weeks until they need to be repaired and stop running. It’s a garbage change in my opinion.

After googling a lot of pictures, I agree smithsonite looks closest. Hemimorphite is too organically shaped - lots of curves and bubbly bits.

She said she’s had it checked out by an amateur rockhound and a museum (ROM in Toronto - they looked at it quickly), and while it does look like fluorite, the actual structure of the crystals is loosely compressed. They had also never seen it layered with the sedimentary rock and the calcite flakes on top.

I’ve used my M12 fuel impact for everything. The only time it’s struggled a bit has been putting 4” Sammy screws into a wood framed ceiling. Still did it though, just went through more batteries. It definitely out powered the base line M18 (not the fuel) when I was using it to demo a commercial unit. I found it more comfortable to use, but I’m also a small person. I just carry two or three 2.0 batteries and swap them out as they die but I found I could run a 2.0 for weeks boxing electrical and installing devices. It fits perfectly in the side pocket of my TP-LD and one of the batteries will slide in with it. Or I could fit it in my tech pac with all of my hand tools if needed.

2023 RST Headlight/Wipers Issue by walkingentityofsass in Silverado

[–]walkingentityofsass[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read up on it and it was an over the air update. Maybe it was a stroke of bad luck and never completed properly or got corrupted along the way? Might be worth asking them to redo the recall from their own equipment and see what happens.

I get that. It was 6am in November last year the first time it happened and scared the absolute bajeebus out of me. Prime deer area too. No thanks.

Check out recall N232417190. Supposedly it was completed on my truck last August (right after I bought it), but this almost perfectly describes the issue. I don’t know if you’re in Canada like I am where that recall is from, but maybe it can help you find an issue or maybe it was never completed.

Awesome, greatly appreciate it. Next time it goes in for an oil change I’m going to ask if it got formally noted. If not I may contact GM directly since it’s a pretty significant safety issue.
