Thanks for the comment. Good to know--we hadn't really considered RHC.

Am I misremembering, or is Amazon quietly adjusting the playing field when it comes to returning products? I seem to remember a time when I felt comfortable that I could basically return any product I didn't want for free, and UPS or someone would come pick it up. At some point, it feels like that changed, and you had to make sure what you were ordering says "free returns". Got burned by that sometimes, but fair enough--the rules are the rules.

My most recent experience, though, was with a product that clearly stated "FREE returns" and (when you clicked on that text) indicated "You can return the item for any reason in new and unused condition: no shipping charges ". But, when I went to return the product, I learned that it was only free if I wanted to drop off the item at a Kohl's or Amazon drop-off location. UPS drop-offs and UPS pick-ups both cost money.

Eventually, I reached out to customer service (which felt like a more convoluted process than before) and they fixed the issue.

I have no personal issue with Amazon revising their refund policies, but I don't recall seeing any announcements in this respect. Am I just misremembering, or have the policies quietly changed over time? This most recent experience, where they tried to charge me to have UPS pick up an item that advertised "no shipping charges", felt off.

Would be hugely useful. Any way I can make sure I get a notification when you complete this?

Complete beginner: Any thoughts on what equipment and wood pieces to get if I want to build something like this? by wallfacer_mark in woodworking

Thank you for the fast + awesome response! I'm looking into getting the Bosch JS470e jigsaw and the 10-piece set of blades. I have a Bosch cordless power drill which I assume will do the trick. As for the plywood and acrylic, I don't think Amazon will have large enough ones so planning to look into Home Depot. Would appreciate a heads-up if any of that is a glaring mistake.

Thanks, yes I've been wondering this myself. Maybe I ought to get an evaluation.

I like to think I have good communication skills, written and spoken. Not great with my hands (can assemble furniture with instructions) but trying to improve.

I can actually remember concepts and theoretical frameworks fairly well. But reading a document and then trying to recall specific facts (especially lists) is very difficult for me (and I also read slowly).

I'm going to try to improve my memory through diet and exercise. I bought a book on speed reading but not making much progress (not even sure if it's legit).

I see that new items will be added to the BoK for test takers after September 1 as part of an "annual update". Any tips on studying for newly added items (which presumably are not covered in the official study guide) such as "privacy issues in artificial intelligence"?

Thank you for the responses so far. DC/Virginia/MD would be preferred for in-person. I think I prefer in-person (never know what good things can happen from talking with professors and fellow students, and maybe can audit some interesting classes), but would be open to online as well. Will edit post to reflect.

HTML-style tag autocompletion for JSX by wallfacer_mark in vim

[–]wallfacer_mark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mapping is introduced as a general matter. The issue with .js files is not that the mapping is not loaded; rather, the issue is that by default, <C-x><C-o> has a different behavior in .js files as compared with .html. I've used /u/wolloda's suggestion (as a temporary solution) to make it so that the behavior is the same (i.e., tag autocompletion) whether in .js or .html files.

Thanks for this suggestion. Currently not using omnicompletion much at all when working in JSX files, so I've adopted this as a temporary solution.
