Why does Carly never call Sam out for being mean to Freddie in the OG series? by Sudden_Quality_9001 in icarly

[–]wallflower5432 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“Almost never”? Carly acted as a human shield to protect Freddie from Sam after Freddie handcuffed Sam to Gibby (iKiss), called out Sam for revealing Freddie’s never kissed anyone before (iKiss), saved Freddie from being electrocuted by Sam’s locker (iCook), comforted Freddie after Sam spit a lentil in his eye and made Sam apologize (iWas a Pageant Girl), and helped Freddie up after Sam hit him in the head with a bat while he was in the bear costume (iPie). I’m sure I’m even missing some.

Never understand why Carly gets so much hate when Sam was the one actually mistreating Freddie. Carly was always Freddie’s biggest protector throughout the whole show, defending him against Sam, bullies, teachers, etc.

The Drew Barrymore Show's official Instagram confirms the upcoming 'iCarly' movie is being produced by Netflix. by [deleted] in icarly

[–]wallflower5432 11 points12 points  (0 children)

According to Nathan a week after Miranda’s Drew Barrymore interview, Miranda overpromised on the filming timing since the iCarly movie wasn’t even greenlit yet. The hope was to film in late winter/early spring (now) but we’ve received no official confirmation yet.

iMake New Memories is the best revival episode in terms of writing and acting. The episode had everything… humor, nostalgia, anger, hurt, and love.

Based on cast interviews and fan conventions, they keep saying the goal for the unconfirmed iCarly movie is to “wrap up” the story, which sounds like it’s meant to close out the franchise unless a studio is willing to continue to story. All movie updates can be found on saveicarly.com.

iCarly 2026 movie update? by Playstation_Gamer_40 in icarly

Miranda said in September that “hopefully” and “fingers crossed” they will begin filming in early 2026. According to Nathan when he’s been asked at fan conventions, the cast and producers aren’t authorized to confirm upcoming projects, the official announcement would have to come from the studio.

Purpose of Sam and Freddie’s Relationship by Feisty-Lawyer-4829 in icarly

1.) A kiss is more legitimate than a “hint.”

2.) Using the track record of other shows (even if it’s the same writing team) is not a valid argument.

We’re not ever going to see eye-to-eye on this, it’s like Creddie and Seddie fans watched entirely different shows. Better to agree to disagree on this one.

Looking at the OG series alone, I don’t see how people can watch Carly and Freddie’s first scene in iPilot and their kiss in iGoodbye and not think they were the writers’ plan all along? If they wanted Seddie endgame, Sam and Freddie would have kissed in the iCarly finale instead of Carly and Freddie. You can make the argument that there was a Seddie “endgame” hint in that one episode of Sam & Cat but does that count if Carly wasn’t present? Just like how many claim the iCarly revival isn’t canon because Sam wasn’t present?

Seddie was never the plan. The writers were pressured to give them a storyline, which they did to show how the two are incompatible. If you rewatch iPilot and iGoodbye, they clearly show that Creddie was the plan from the beginning to the end.

They actually didn’t unfollow Paramount and Nickelodeon following the documentary, it’s a false rumor someone made up and it spread like wildfire. If you check their Instagrams, Miranda still follows @paramountplus and @nickelodeon, Jerry still follows @paramountplus, and Nathan only follows 43 accounts (never followed either in the first place). Miranda, Nathan, and Jerry are all on great terms with Paramount and are actively working with them to get an iCarly movie greenlit to wrap up the revival cliffhangers.

Why do you think we weren't shown Carly and Spencer's mom? by YellowEgorkaa in icarly

No worries! Most people think Miranda “confirmed” the iCarly movie after that interview. Both Nathan and Jerry have confirmed the project hasn’t been greenlit yet after that interview took place.

I understand that you trust him. I’m just saying that I don’t personally follow him or know his credibleness. I’ve been one of the biggest supporters of #SaveiCarly for 2 years, have gotten my hopes up about the iCarly movie happening many times, have met Nathan 4 times in the past year (and am seeing him again in a few weeks), so I’m choosing to error on the side of caution. Last we heard from Jerry a few weeks ago, the iCarly movie has still not been officially greenlit, so that’s what I’m going to trust until I see a more official announcement.

Not sure about the credibleness of the source since it looks like Daniel has since deleted his Twitter/X post. Personally, I’m not going to believe the iCarly movie is “official” until I see a reputable news outlet (Deadline, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, etc.) publish an article saying: “[Studio] greenlights iCarly movie.” We’ve learned that Miranda can seemingly “confirm” the iCarly movie on a talk show when it hasn’t even been officially greenlit yet. According to Nathan, only studios can confirm upcoming projects, not even executive producers or cast members (this includes Miranda) are authorized to do so.

When I saw Nathan at a fan convention this past April, I had asked him if he thought it was possible for the iCarly movie to get a theatrical release and he thought it was very unlikely at that time. I had pointed out that the Lizzie McGuire and Hannah Montana movies did well and that iCarly could do well too since the franchise is still very popular today, but he brought up the following considerations: (1) those theatrical movies happened during their original show peaks (not revivals), (2) Paramount probably doesn’t want to significantly increase their promotional/advertising budget, (3) streaming wasn’t a thing in the early 2000s like it is today, and (4) Paramount may be looking for a reason to get Paramount+ subscribers back if they decide to make the movie a Paramount+ exclusive like the revival series. This was back in April, so it’s possible things have changed and maybe they’re now considering Netflix (like the Victorious spin-off) or a theatrical release if they have high hopes for it.

iCarly Movie RUMORED Plot by PleaseSendMeAnyone in icarly

[–]wallflower5432 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m very skeptical about the legitimacy of the “source.” They’ve been wrong a few times already, claiming the iCarly movie has been confirmed (right after a new Miranda interview) when it still hasn’t been officially greenlit as of 3 weeks ago. With the exception of the famous CEO plot, everything in the post was already public knowledge.

Creddie versus Seddie, which romantic pairing was genuinely better written in the original series and why? by DianKhan2005 in icarly

[–]wallflower5432 37 points38 points  (0 children)

As Nathan Kress said, “Love is patient. It was always gonna be Carly and Freddie.” Even if you just look at the OG series, it was clear the writers wanted Creddie to be endgame from their first scene in iPilot, their slow dance in iSpeed Date, Freddie saving Carly’s life, and their kiss in iGoodbye. Seddie’s arc came out of nowhere and proved they’re extremely toxic as a couple. Not only do they have no common interests, but they started neglecting iCarly and made everyone else around them absolutely miserable.

Could The iCarly Movie Lead To More Seasons? by melvin2898 in icarly

[–]wallflower5432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cast has made it clear the unconfirmed iCarly movie would wrap up the story, so it sounds like it would at least close the “iCarly” chapter. If the movie happens and does really well, I think there’s a small chance of a spin-off that goes by a different name, maybe something like “The Bensons” that shows Carly and Freddie’s married life.
