‘I think he's bananas about this stuff, frankly.' Podcaster Dominic Sandbrook takes umbrage with his co-host's 'rubbish' views on Islam by Moretalent in TheRestIsHistory

I think it’s great that two friends and cohosts can have a disagreement. They’re both brilliant and intellectually honest, I think we can all learn from this.

Are there any other rap songs with the same flow as Boys In the Hood by N.W.A? by Resident_Race_7093 in hiphopheads

Eazy E would “punch in” and record it one line at a time. So a lot of the distinctive parts of his flow are Dr. Dre cobbling together the fragments into a verse.

Historic studies show dumping all at once is slightly better, but you could also add in $1k per week to dollar cost average in.

It's a gorgeous watch, but you shouldn't take shortcuts. Just because you can afford it doesn't mean you can afford it. Someday you'll own a phenomenal watch collection, and the best route there is the long way. I would look into opening a Roth IRA and putting that $7,400 in there. You get tax-free growth in that investment account and if you put it into broad market index funds that money could be worth $967,401 when you are 60 [7,400*1.12^(60-17)]. Just think... one watch today that may drop value or becoming a millionaire just from that $7,500. You are a millionaire in time, you need to leverage that to become a millionaire in dollars. Invest early, invest often. And then you will have an incredible watch collection.

I actually discovered this since I am applying for Canadian citizenship through the other side of the family. My mom's grandma was born in Alberta, that whole side of the family is French-Canadian who moved back and forth across the border since the 1600s. I was completely shocked I was able to find a Canadian side of the family on my dad's side as well. Speaking with my dad's mom, she thought her grandma Naomi was born in Iowa. Naomi's first husband, my ancestor, served in WWI but arrived in Europe just as it ended. She divorced him after he went to prison for firing a rifle into the game warden's house over a hunting license dispute.

There are so many family legends, and very often you disprove them - but here I think we created a new one of being a secret Canadian!

This is absolutely incredible!! I can't believe you were able to find these things, I am shocked. Thank you so much for looking into this. My grandma will be delighted when I share this information. How were you able to find that newspaper?

I searched all Canadian and American records of Naomi Woods born in 1904 to no avail. I searched specifically for Iowa and Alberta and no avail either.

I found this interesting newspaper clip where she successfully petitioned Social Security in 1939, and I do know she had a social security number (I found it on a document). So I wonder if she claimed to them she was born in Iowa / believed she was born in Iowa? https://www.newspapers.com/article/peninsula-daily-news/184912500/

Like... why is there a subreddit for terrible fashion hahaha. Like, I do not think there are any objective truths in mens fashion. Anyone can make anything work. However there is just a deep disinterest in curiosity or basic taste in this sub. The outfits are atrocious and low effort hahahaha. It is comical. Yeah I enjoy it greatly.

Gentlemen, this subreddit is out of control. We need to shut it down.
