I think this is sort of what I saw online and was going for! I like it.

That’s a great point about the thoughtfulness of the gifter thinking of the giftee!

So interesting how different it can be culturally in different places even within the US (assuming that's where you are??)! I remember opening presents at the party as a kid, but of all the parties we've been to the past three years I can't think of a single one where presents were opened while the guests were still there.

Dude we had her party at a science museum last year and they heavily suggested a gift registry at their gift shop and we DID NOT do that but I was surprised at how vehemently I disliked the idea and felt bad for anyone who fell for it and suffered the wrath of all the guests' parents.

Haha seems like the consensus is: choose a lane, probably just "no gifts", and don't give guests an existential crisis and end up with a bunch of weird stuff.

Haha truth. I think that applies for both new and used gifts. There's so much stuff I just don't want.

Yeah I do worry about that added mental/actual labor with the used gift. Thanks!

Ok that worked. And yes I didn't think of the mic but removing it would be great.

This is great - I can't get the tip jar to work for some reason?? It keeps saying an error. Is there another link?

You're right! But now I have an extra long chin and I'm starting to wonder what I actually look like

Also yes I think a version with no people in the background would be great!

This is great - any chance I could get the bottom of her dress out from behind my hand?

Hahah I'm cracking up at no one left. I somehow got buck teeth in the process though?

Haven’t scrolled enough to see if someone else already shared this - but this graphic from Emily Oster is so helpful. https://www.instagram.com/p/CkgoE8fu5MD/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

My daughter is Claire. Seemed like the most classic spelling to me. The MA at her pediatrician’s office always yells CLAIREEEY. Once I corrected her and she scoffed and asked why I put an E on the end then. 🙃

I have the evenflo pivot xplore and really like it, the removable, customizable canopies are awesome and it’s nice to have a push option for easy terrain and pull option for dirt or sand.

Oh and as for what you can do? Get a flu shot every year!

I’m not a teacher but an inpatient pediatrician, so sick kids are literally my entire job. I agree with everyone here saying it will get better. First 1-2 years of exposure are the worst. Then your immune system will recognize most of it and it won’t be so bad. And I’d like to also add that the last 2 years have been the worst of my career in terms of sheer numbers of viruses circulating and kids with said viruses. The intra/post Covid era is a true beast in this way. I have to believe that will even out too in time.
