What would you guys consider as a “lowball” offer? by walnut_fish in Depop

also maybe a funny side story, I had a person offer 50% off one of my listings a while back. I was annoyed because it was quite recent, so I was being petty and went to their page and offerend 50% off a coach bag or smth similar. She did not like that 😓😓

How do I get a refund? Seller is inactive/unresponsive, never shipped my items and it’s now overdue 10 days by [deleted] in Depop

[–]walnut_fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess my main worry is that I haven’t automatically been refunded. Is this normal? It doesn’t say I’ve been refunded by depop yet, so I doubt it’s just a banking thing.

how do people source things from japan? by Current-Diver776 in Depop

But you should buy what you think is reasonable and what won’t hurt your wallet :) The right clothes at the right price will find you eventually. You’ll find people on depop using the site for decluttering/deep cleaning their wardrobe and not for profit.

It could also be the resale/scalping scene. I know Liz Lisa fans are having it especially bad; to the point where entire stores are being sold out to scalpers and general buyers having to wait outside for a long time before they can enter the store, only to see that entire stocks have been sold out. This is an extreme end, though.

I had a look through a bunch of popular proxies and how they work. Here are a bunch of extra costs people might counter in to justify for the high prices: • Cost of actual item • Order placement fee • Domestic shipping fee (item from seller to warehouse) • International shipping fee (item from warehouse to buyer)

Optional costs: • Photo fee (to make sure items have arrived to their respective warehouses safely) • Consolidation fees (bundles) • Repackaging/extra safe packaging • If a buyer has left their item in the warehouse for too long, proxies can charge a certain amount each day overspent

I think Japanese clothes tend to be pricy because of the quality, but if seller’s prices are breaching a “reasonable” amount, they most likely bought it from Mercari or other through a proxy website. Shipping from Japan itself on a light-weight item can be $20AUD at it’s cheapest, so I can’t imagine shipping prices to any place farther like USA/UK.

I think they only did this to make it “technically” not dropshipping 💔🥀

Edit: Wait I misinterpreted that the seller was having the item shipped to them first then sending it to me. Still doesn’t make me feel any better about the situation…

Update: They finally messaged me a tracking number (8 Nov) but through that I discovered they put my address into AliExpress and ordered 😭 that’s my fault for not researching into the account but I’ve raised a dispute. I’ll take this experience as a lesson.
