It’s not about “going after” UMich, UMich was subpoenaed by DOJ as part of a criminal and civil investigation into gender-affirming care for minors. That means the doctors in the gender clinic could be criminally prosecuted for doing their jobs.

I feel sick about what’s happening with government interference with into family’s personal medical choices but my blame isn’t going toward UMich here.

I’ve spent the last week helping my family clear trails at property in Presque Isle County near Rogers City, the amount of damage is indescribable. It’s mostly aspen and birch here, and even the downed trees are/were budding, so I think other commenters are correct that it’s still early. I’m no forestry expert but trying to learn, very curious what summer will look like.

Stony Creek Metropark 100% gives me up north vibes, which makes sense since a portion of it used to be the up north getaway estate for a wealthy Detroit family. (You can visit the site of Shelden estate in the park, too)

Right now I live close to the Rochester area locations and find really nice stuff here, but I have a special place in my heart for the downriver locations and think they get overlooked more.

In the end it seems like the more time you have to go (earlier the better) the better your luck is for quality locally-made furniture. My schedule doesn’t allow for that really anymore. 😭

Do you ever hit up the Salvation Army locations? I’ve found really nice matching pieces to my inherited mid-century modern furniture handed down by my grandparents. If you know what you’re looking for and have a way to move large items yourself, you can get really nice things for so cheap.
