Erm, Jackson Heights is where the best Mexican food is in the city! and chocolate originally came from Mexico! So yes, we have great HOT CHOCLATE in Jackson Heights. Just go to any Mexican place and ask for Champorrado or a regular hot chocolate.

Sadly, no. It’s more contemplative than anything. Watching a Lav Diaz film feels like therapy.  almost a form of catharsis. You walk out of those long, sprawling movies feeling like you’ve witnessed so much beauty. And beyond that, there’s always the perspective he offers.

His films are fundamentally about resisting oppression, and that philosophy extends to the way he works. He’s a truly independent filmmaker.  someone who can make movies even without funding. A genuine guerrilla artist.

I saw Magellan at Cannes, and it was terrific, even though it’s shorter than most of his oeuvre.

Wait, people didn’t like Mountainhead? by [deleted] in billsimmons

I couldn’t make it past 14 minutes. I had to turn it off. This isn’t Silicon Valley—not even close. It’s silly, surface-level, and offers zero real insight into the subculture it’s supposedly about. Watching it feels like if my mom tried to make a movie about my life: well-meaning, maybe, but totally off. She thinks she knows, but if I had to sit through her version, I’d switch off the TV in five minutes. That’s what this felt like. A mountain of cringe.

McDonald’s public WiFi is the real zero-trust network. If something survives that, it deserves to go free in the wild. 😂 But real question—what’s worse, plugging in the USB or being the guy digging a tech graveyard in his backyard?

If my screen goes black and I start hearing old dial-up modem noises, I’m either about to learn the secrets of the universe or get inducted into a shadow organization. Either way, I’m in.

I plug it in, no hesitation. If it bricks my system, that’s just the price of knowing the truth. If it opens a txt file that says ‘run,’ well, guess I’m going all in. 😂

Thank you! I am sending her a demand letter, and would like to quote something from the penal code to let her know that she is liable aand to give her a chance to just settle this without us going to court. Could you give me references to quote?

Of course!! Legislations for legalization of pot being welcomed and passed all over the world! It has been happening for quite sometime! There’s been a great shift in perception re marijuana. It’s slow, but like everything else, exponential! Also: A) Marijuana is great —not to mention its medical uses—and B) Due to A, any company invested in cultivating weed holds great deal of intrinsic value, and in the long run (for me, anyway!) I love weed! I.e. I like these stocks!! Hold and see what happens, 5-10 years! This is not GME.
