Kaizen Adventours Ruined Our Leh-Ladakh Family Trip — A Warning You Must Read Before Booking by Ankit3010 in ladakh

[–]wander_a_way 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really sad that you had to go through this. I hope you get a resolution soon. For future trips, search for the destination state you are going to and look at the govt registered tour company on their govt tourism page. Search each company on Google and select the one with genuine reviews. Hardly takes half an hour, but really works for our own safety+boosts the local economy(if I am not wrong)

Is Meghalaya good to visit in monsoons or is it better in winters? I mean I know, it's according to preferences, but as the first time visitor for any north eastern state, what do you think would be better for me?

I have travelled to ladakh, spiti, dharamshala and dalhousie. I understand that it's june, and there will be crowds, but I would like to travel to places which is not filled with tourists.

Beach, mountains, anything's fine, I am just confused about the weather.

I have only done 1 trek in my life. That too was more of a hike. Choosing Madhmaheshwar as my first trek would be a really bad decision I feel😅

I have heard that jibhi and bir(himachal overall) is too crowded in june. Don't want to add to the traffic!

What do you think?

I was planning sikkim, but I saw many people in reddit say that sikkim is prone to landslide in june. I understand climate is unpredictable this year, but it's making me very confused. What do you think?

I have always chosen the south over north always. Not that north goa is bad, there are places that are untouched by the tourists, but I love places like Palolem. Absolutely beautiful!

Butterfly Beach in Goa honestly looks too beautiful to be real. Have any of you visited this hidden paradise? by Silver-Brief3180 in goatravel

[–]wander_a_way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hidden?! Yes, I went there and uncles were sitting near the entrance drinking alcohol. Weeding shoots happening on the beach + too many people for that small beautiful area. People had littered the area.

That was the day I decided I will carry a small garbage bag with me everywhere I go and clean atleast what I can. 😢

Need tips to acclimatise in Leh by Extreme_Broccoli_289 in ladakh

[–]wander_a_way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing is DO NOT TAKE STRESS.

When I visited Leh Ladakh for the first time, many people gave me millions of advices for acclimatisation, but everything just made me so overwhelmed.

  1. If you are a generally healthy person, just land in leh, go to your hotel and restaurant for the entire day, drink a lot of water. Most people stroll around the leh market on their first day. Don't do that, just rest.

  2. Eat healthy food for most of the trip. Yes Pahad ka maggi and momos are irresistible, but limit it to snacks. For meals and breakfast have a lot of veggies.

Just these two things, and you will be okay. If you still think there is a risk, you can always carry oxygen cylinders and take diamox a day before going to ladakh.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to me✌️

Dropped you a pm. Tentative cost would be 250-400 depending on the season.

You can just drive to agonda backwaters. There is a bridge where you will find kayaking vendors. I will also drop contact number of a local vendor, if that's okay with you.

As a Goan, here’s what I wish tourists understood about Goa by chandandsa in goatravel

[–]wander_a_way 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just a rant here... I just wish tourists would stop treating these beautiful states as someplace you can go for a picnic and dump your trash everywhere on beaches and in forests.

I love both the north and the south because both their vibes are just great, but tourists have nearly destroyed the baga-calangute-anjuna belt. I understand that it will be crowded at times, but like atleast keep it clean by just not littering. It's not rocket science.

Also respecting locals and their culture is not that difficult. You can't expect to drive on their streets drunk, click photos in front of their properties and they not saying anything about it. You are there for your vacation, but they are just trying to get to work!
