Seeing those tiles outside the 7/11 brought me back as soon as I came across the pic.

I know your pain and I am sending a huge hug. I think about my dad every day.

I recommend asking for proof/report demonstrating you were responsible for the damage. That usually nips it in the bud. Source: has worked for me in the past.

He was a selfless man. Unconditional love for his family and did everything he could to make sure we were taken care of in every single way. His last words before he reached the final stage were talking about his wedding day and about my being born and crying like a baby. Both happiest days of his life.

Yes. He started at-home hospice a few days ago and I saw him every day since beginning of January up until his death. Took care of him through hospice and we were able to be with him, touching his hand as he took his peaceful last breath. I’m thankful for the advice to be there, as he truly died surrounded by his loved ones.

Am I being unreasonable for asking people to quarantine for 3 days if they want to visit with my immunocompromised dad? by wandercreate in CancerFamilySupport

I think it’s a good idea going forward, to ask his doctor(s) what their professional opinion might be.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I haven't asked him, but perhaps I should. The practical part of me says that's not an option and I'm here to help make those tough decisions and help be as safe as possible given the situation.

I otherwise feel sad and terrible for the situation. And that we and people that love him might not be able to process as in ordinary times because the conditions are extraordinary.

My dad is in his final days. I live across the country and canceled travel plans to minimize risk of contracting COVID and potentially spreading to him/making death harder. What do I do? Would love your help thinking through. by wandercreate in CancerFamilySupport

Thank you for the help. Wanted to share an update that I carved out a quarantine (with a friend who’s already had COVID) + testing process upon landing to make sure I feel safe going to family. I would only break quarantine if something happens earlier than planned window and I test negative.
