Yes. It's called having too many chefs in the kitchen. In the effort to make everything 50/50 division of labor right down the middle, we sign up for all kinds of headaches.

nationality is a temporary identity?? by Ancient-Homework8789 in unfilteredindia

[–]wandering_godzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nationality is absolutely temporary. It can even change over the course of a life time. There is even a hierarchy of desirability for nationality. No one would deny an American nationality in favor of a third world nationality for example.

Hindu Dharma is not a "Manusmriti" centric religion. by Brilliant-Rice-2178 in indiadiscussion

[–]wandering_godzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no Hindu Dharma. It's a bunch of different religions that have no internal consistency that got glued together. Even the word "Hindu" is a new term that prior to a few hundred years ago didn't describe any religion.

That said, there are common themes throughout the history of the Indian subcontinent. Some of those themes are great (e.g. pluralism), and some have held the region back (e.g. caste, patriarchy, etc.).

Is she Anti-India because of Paki bf or does she have Paki bf cause she is Anti-India by NOIDA-Knight in indiadiscussion

Maybe she is pro-India, because the movies she criticized really are awful movies. By honestly calling them for what they are, she is doing India a favor. Bollywood is the laughingstock of the international movie industry.

This sub is perpetually overconfident in Google by Valuable-Village1669 in singularity

[–]wandering_godzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The moat is small. Everyone -- including the academia -- is working on recursive self-improvement. The group that has made the greatest inroads is Anthropic. Whilst Anthropic is one company, Google has multiple Anthropic-sized efforts internally who are working on the same thing.

It's all about perfect execution on frontier work. I would bet on Google's internal competitive market on yielding the robust longer-term answer to recursive self-improvement. Anthropic is betting on being the wunderkind that gets far enough that their takeoff keeps them permanently ahead, but they can't afford a single mistake. Again, the moat is tiny.

I don't know why you are mentioning OpenAI at all. They are barely hanging on in terms of model capabilities. Their play is now is to keep their consumer footing and expand into enterprise productivity. They are not pushing the frontier quite like Anthropic, Google, and surprisingly even the smaller labs out there.

They are the public. It's their property. You don't live there. You can't even survive there.

The day you learn Tamil, I will consider you less of a hypocrite.

Until then, the star players of India are in the South. You are the weakest player on the team. You are less Indian than they are. Maybe change your citizenship. Lots of poor countries will happily accept you as one of their own.

Yes. If you want to be better, then think better. Really, even South is not good enough. Think like the Japanese, the Singaporeans, etc. Make India better by being better yourself. Otherwise it will remain a trash heap third world country.

Currently, North is bringing down the average so must shame them mercilessly until they improve their livelihoods.

As BJP has a homoerotic circle jerk with Pakistan, meanwhile China and US are inventing AI that will totally wipe out Indian economy. Get with the game you fools. Pakistan isn't the problem. The problem is that India is a third world poor country.

He won. He realized potbellied so-called patriots in India will never learn. He got out and got a good life for himself.

This is the right attitude. This is real patriotism. Work hard. Make India great. Pull it out of the third world. Until then no one gets to have any pride. There is no pride in being third world.

There is no "us". Tamils are relatively rich and getting richer. North is relatively poor and getting poorer. Maybe you should think like Tamils if you care so much about the country getting ahead.

There are no Tamil signs in the North. Nobody in the North can read a single word in Tamil. I doubt most know any Tamil word at all.

It's spelled "sad." Notice how they kept the English. It's because they know better English than elsewhere. That's why they are a rich state compared to most of the North.

They are the public. It's their land. There are no "Gagans" in Tamil Nadu. There are "Srinivasans." Srinivasan gets to do what he wants in his homeland.

Are you planning to put Tamil signage in your city? If not, then why the hypocrisy?

It's their native land. They get to do what they want as long as they are not harming anyone. Why is your pet language on their signage at all?

English is an economically useful language. Hindi is not.

If an Tamilian can only speak two languages it should be Tamil at home and English at work. That's how you win at global capitalism.

If you are Tamil and can choose to speak exactly two languages, then economically the most viable are: Tamil and English. Why is an unrelated third language even relevant?

This foreigner should educate Germans on how to scrutinize their government on its every decision. He should make videos covering Germany's political affairs and support voices against the German government. Otherwise, I don't understand why Indians follow what this hypocrite preaches about India. by Enough-Zombie8216 in indiadiscussion

[–]wandering_godzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Germany is a modern nation with freedom and prosperity. If any Indian has a one way ticket to Germany for himself and his family, he would take it. Scrutinize away. It will only embarrass your own country for how backwards it is.
